The bear is awesome!!! Though I wish Lego would make an attachment for the bear to hook up to tow carts like a horse, or for a horse saddle to slide into place on them so minifigures can ride them, or just something more interactive to bring more play options into the day. Same goes for the big cats released this year.

my mom has had to chase a mama bear and yearling off of her porch twice in the last few weeks, first time they found the birdseed container and just busted through the screen door to eat it, second time they came back looking for more sunflower seeds. her and my stepdad are now bringing in all the bird feeders, turned all the compost over, and are hoping they move on soon.

gotta put out extra bear food so they leave the bird feed alone imo

“Anybody can become a bear ‘expert’ by reading about them and sitting through lectures at a university,” Mr. Van Tighem said. “Charlie wasn’t that kind of expert. He didn’t see bears in the way that other bear researchers might — as objects of study. He saw them as his teachers.”

But to really get at the innate nature of bears, he needed to find ones that had no history of negative encounters with people. That is what sent him and Ms. Enns to Kamchatka, which had been off limits to civilians for military reasons during the Cold War and thus was full of bears that had had no contact with humans.
