Yep. Burnley are a right bore.

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 23 December 2017 18:51 (eight years ago)

Halfway through and in a lot of countries the number one is walking it:

Bayern München lead by 11 points
Barcelona lead by 8 points (and 14 to Real)
Man City lead by 14 points
PSG lead by 9 points
Club Brugge lead by 11 points
Wolves lead by 7 points

Only Holland (PSV 5 point lead, but it was 10 a week ago :-/), Italy and Portugal (both up for grabs) are too close to call.

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:04 (eight years ago)

Impressive performance by amartey there

faust apes (NickB), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:18 (eight years ago)

lol ya, quite a feat

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:18 (eight years ago)

Rashford ffs

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:23 (eight years ago)

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:37 (eight years ago)

How the fuck did we bin this

faust apes (NickB), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:39 (eight years ago)

Rashford and Martial refusing to score
Smalling half dead but still left on the pitch

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:41 (eight years ago)

martial, jesse, rashford all missed nailed on chances, fucking hell

faust apes (NickB), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:41 (eight years ago)

That is genuinely one of the stupidest managerial decisions I've ever seen

Jose out

Number None, Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:41 (eight years ago)

that Jesse miss was the worst

faust apes (NickB), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:42 (eight years ago)

I would giggle at yall but we just did a similar thing ourselves down in the depths of league one

fuck it though, lol

Cardi Acs (imago), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:45 (eight years ago)

Mou out otm. Sack him on Xmas day. Strip his ill fitting kit off and send him to Guantanamo Bay. For once I'll allow severe torture.

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 23 December 2017 21:47 (eight years ago)

Monk's available now.

calzino, Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:00 (eight years ago)

still think we could beat city on a good day, not saying which one though

faust apes (NickB), Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:08 (eight years ago)

what’s brechin’s form like at the moment?

faust apes (NickB), Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:09 (eight years ago)

Terrible fwiw.

Whiney Houston (Tom D.), Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:16 (eight years ago)

Are East Stirling still shite? I can remember a time when people would use their opponents as bankers on football accs, and they had a losing streak to Man City's winning streak.

calzino, Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:22 (eight years ago)

to match*

calzino, Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:22 (eight years ago)

Who can play the football united need while competing at the top end, developing youth and delivering value from the big money players without dragging the proud reputation of the club through shit

Can only think of Rogers atm

remember the lmao (darraghmac), Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:23 (eight years ago)

East Stirling(shire) aren't in the league anymore.

Whiney Houston (Tom D.), Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:29 (eight years ago)

Rather, they're in the Lowlands League. Albion Rovers were always terrible too but they're up in League 1 now - third tier.

Whiney Houston (Tom D.), Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:31 (eight years ago)

that Jesse miss was the worst

Agonising, but at least he was doing the right thing, just narrowly failed to get it in. Rashford's decision making was awful once he came on. Repeatedly failing to pass to players who were clean through and refusing to take a shot when he was clean through himself.

mothfrogs and homicidal smoking haikuists (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:34 (eight years ago)

xp
I notice Gretna are down there as well now, just to keep it on topic I'll mention East Stirling was Ferguson's first managerial gig.

calzino, Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:37 (eight years ago)

Lol! Monk back to Swansea rumours.

calzino, Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:44 (eight years ago)

if true, one less relegation spot to worry about imo.

calzino, Saturday, 23 December 2017 22:46 (eight years ago)

i think they're fucked this time whatever happens

a Rambo in curved air (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 23 December 2017 23:02 (eight years ago)

aye, Swansea is doomed.

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 23 December 2017 23:10 (eight years ago)

It appears Nick Cohen is having another senior moment.

calzino, Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:35 (eight years ago)

hang on i thought City was run by an anarcho-vegan commune

a Rambo in curved air (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:37 (eight years ago)

I don't see what's so bad about the article. City's owners do, by and large, get a free ride from the press

Number None, Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:45 (eight years ago)

I presume he'll be doing exposes on all the other 20 odd dodgy oligarchs that own EPL/EFL clubs, and finding some bizarre way of weaving some more Corbyn bashing into them.

calzino, Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:46 (eight years ago)

tbf football clubs are the worst aspect of our trade relationships with the middle east

a Rambo in curved air (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:48 (eight years ago)

nick cohen is a fucking manchester united fan

Cardi Acs (imago), Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:49 (eight years ago)

he cops to that in the opening line tbf

Number None, Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:51 (eight years ago)

the points gap at christmas is: 13 points. nick cohen, manchester united fan, is bitter. he takes to his computer keyboard

Cardi Acs (imago), Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:51 (eight years ago)

i don't understand why sports journalists don't write more often about well-known political facts

a Rambo in curved air (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:52 (eight years ago)

also owned by dodgy fucking oligarchs. It is like having a beauty pageant for pension aged men in the local Wetherspoons, comparing and contrasting good oligarchs from bad oligarchs.

calzino, Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:53 (eight years ago)

democratic oligarchs are way better than feudal oligarchs, you can always vote to replace them with somebody nicer

a Rambo in curved air (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:54 (eight years ago)

it really shouldn't be hard to tack on "who are owned by a medieval police state" after every use of "Manchester City" in a match report tho

a Rambo in curved air (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:56 (eight years ago)

i say let the middle east have its fun before climate change literally makes it uninhabitable

Cardi Acs (imago), Sunday, 24 December 2017 10:59 (eight years ago)

City ownership is nothing

remember the lmao (darraghmac), Sunday, 24 December 2017 11:07 (eight years ago)

if Man City's attack is like genocide, then Lukaku should be arrested as a collaborator.

calzino, Sunday, 24 December 2017 11:08 (eight years ago)

Conscientious objector tbh

remember the lmao (darraghmac), Sunday, 24 December 2017 11:08 (eight years ago)

If only more clubs were owned by decent upstanding Englishmen, the sort who'd got where they are by sheer determination and hard graft and the honest English sweat of their honest English brows.

Whiney Houston (Tom D.), Sunday, 24 December 2017 11:18 (eight years ago)

Our owner is one of these "decent upstanding Englishmen". He does lots of charity work in the local community to help people who are struggling to get by on zero hour contracts, whilst sitting on a small fortune made by paying minimum wage/zero hour contracts.

calzino, Sunday, 24 December 2017 11:24 (eight years ago)

surprised at the reaction to the city stuff itt - not all owners are the same even if many are corrupt or nefarious. seems to react like that is to play into the hands of a secretive group that has managed to paint itself as relatively benign:

this is a good read: https://medium.com/@NcGeehan/the-men-behind-man-city-a-documentary-not-coming-soon-to-a-cinema-near-you-14bc8e393e06

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 24 December 2017 14:58 (eight years ago)

"not all owners are the same even if many are corrupt or nefarious"

Yes it's arguable the American ones are the worst tbh.
