I despise Star Wars with some considerable energy, so I can't really say I don't care. I've hated it since a child abuser forced me to watch all of them in one marathon sitting in Bradford in the 80's.

It's not so much that I don't care (I have friends and family who live there, quite aside from anything else) but I do kinda resent/lament just how much of your shitty dumb politics we all apparently have to know about. the bbc has a similar problem to the abc here, which is to represent a really fucking awful person/concept/extremist movement as valid and sympathetic in some shitty government-appeasing false portrayal of “balance”. we just had a massive and unnecessary public vote postal survey to determine whether same-sex couples could get married, and the abc spent the whole time talking to fuckhead bigots like they were reasonable people with great ideas. it was fucking repugnant and has basically sealed my mistrust of all public broadcasters.
