Is it Stumptown? They have some weird stuff.

It’s a hole-in-the-wall place in Moscow but it’s a country of weird coffee, tbh, and a lot of places seem to steal liberally from Stumptown’s menu - including the famed ‘espresso and tonic’

There's a place near me that makes a sort of espresso soda thingy with selzer and it was...something I guess I'm glad I tried once.

FWIW while I'm not a huge fan of Manhattan Special, there's a place in Carroll Gardens that has it on tap and it's actually pretty good out of a keg.

in vancouver a number of the coffee shops are ran by evangelicals including one of the larger local chains

including probably the two best third-wave coffee shops

i worked at jj bean for about 8 months when i first moved to vancouver. they put on a really good christmas party for the staff with roast beef and chicken and all the fixings etc. and a few free drinks. so the owner goes up to do a speech and one of my colleagues said "he's going to cry, he cries every year while making the speech". and sure enough he did. he's also an extremely personable person irl who makes a point of knowing every member of staff's name and using it when he talks to them. evangelicals are weird.
