still pretty bummed out at all the Nazis getting blue checkmarks

one thing im surprised twitter hasnt done which wld also be awful is building a verification system for all real name accounts and then having tool that allow u to say only receive notifications from verifieds, the situation where verifieds are celebrities seems bad for them and if everyone cld get verified it wld control some of the nastiness that ppl dont like abt the site and it wldnt be making celebrities of nazis, also banning nazis wld be good imho

you should lose your blue check mark if you change your display name imo. Seeing sometime with a random joke pun name and Verified is pretty ??? like what is the purpose of the system

the only good thing about verified is that it made julian assange so mad that he's not verified that he added a little blue diamond to his name to make people think he's verified

i tried adding all sorts of check mark gliphs to my name and they thought of that lol hence asanges sad blue diamond

having posts in your timeline from people you don't follow and having no way to turn it off is by far the worst thing they've done, 280 is no big deal in comparison imo

yeah not RTs, it just shows me algorithmically selected tweets that people I follow have liked, not even RTed. if there's a way to turn it off it's well hidden since I can't find it

It does seem like there's "Twitter funny" which is different than regular funny, it's like you only laugh in this very deep interior part of your brain instead of out loud, but maybe still very hard.

I only follow two famous people: Limmy and Neil Cicierega. Works for me

I still have no idea how to use Twitter. If you follow hundreds of accounts, there's no way you read your whole timeline, so how do you pick and choose?

i follow like 200 ppl max and prune fairly often, also maybe only 80 of them are particularly prolific so my feed isn't that chaotic

also you just read whatever's recent that's what it's all about

i try to keep my following under 1000

Surely 280 guarantees that any given tweet will now be seen by fewer ppl
