Would you ever order a margherita pizza?

I thought finocchiona said finocchio which is fennel. Seems its actually a salamiof somesort.

Is margherita my first choice? Not usually - I will always go for pizza with sausage, especially Sardinian sausage. Is margherita a good choice nevertheless? Yes, yes it is.

Couldn't get in this thread all day because my ridiculous workplace had it flagged as containing adult material (wut). But yes, of course. I am a carnivore and love meat pizzas, but a good margherita is divine. I was (and continue to be) super bummed when Home Run Inn stopped selling their margherita pizza in grocery stores because it is both the best frozen pizza I ever had by far but also probably in my all-time pizza top ten list.

oh man, stores not selling fav flavor any longer...I feel your pain. Didn't know Home Run Inn sold just a magherita. I get their margherita with sausage, which has the best tasting sauce on a frozen pizza but my lord is their a lot of sausage on them.

i had pizza with lamb gyros on it in minnesota. i was not so worried about the lamb topping - i was more disturbed that it was cut into square pieces.

I think both maximalism + minimalism is good with pizzas. I have a kid with autism who will only scrape the toppings of a pizza so I make them packed with mozzarella/cheddar/spicy mexican style cheese/jalapenos/bell peppers/onions/cherry tomatoes/sweetcorn/minced beef/mushroom/garlic combos, mainly because it's the only bit he eats. But I like a nice simple posh margarita with basil leaves and a drizzle of olive oil etc but so fucking rarely get to eat that one.

Pizza Rossa, from Forno Campo de' Fiori in Rome, is the best pizza ever. If you fold it in half, as many do, it is extra delicious, but is decidedly NOT a sandwich.

over here in portland the trendy hipster pizza is new haven style with clams, which is something i never heard of growing up in new jersey. i had one. it was fucking great.

in general though i barely ever order pizzas, because in portland you can get a banh mi that actually tastes good, and also hawaiian food.

If I'm really honest with myself I probably wouldn't order a margherita pizza because I would order something with meat, but I don't really have anything against them, so yes?

Also, pizza in Austin, TX is terrible.
