I took it as "he brings up 9/11 and how it affected him as frequently as Roger Waters brings up WWII and how it affected him," which is something people have said to my family and me in the past so it was especially nasty and ignorant because dude knows nothing about me

total respect to you flappy bird, because I probably had a pop at your o.g. login and was probably very unnecessarily rude and tactless, such was my m.o. at the time and probably still is sometimes. Anyway you seem a million times better a poster than that unmentionable one.

Roger Waters' father was killed in WW2, later in life I think he might have wrote a few songs about this... or something. The implication being that flappy was somehow milking his personal connection/experience to 9/11 for... something or other.

Yup, I remember this and this was pretty much the way that it was intended, although I didn't actually know that you lived so close to the twin towers when I wrote that (I've only found that out, like, right this second) - I just assumed that you were more than a touch obsessed with 9/11 and didn't bother to look into why that was. Now that I know why, it's understandable that you'd want to talk about it so much and now feel my comments were unwarranted and incredibly mean.

Anyhow - flappy, as much as we may have had our conflicts over music from time to time (I will never understand your Animal Collective fixation, for one), I apologise for the Roger Waters comment. It was highly insensitive and I wouldn't have made the comment in the first place if I'd truly known your situation.

doubling back to the auto-killfiling anyone you FP, couldn't disagree more. SB being downgraded to FP, whatever its flaws, makes it about the post not the poster. good posters can make terrible posts though it is comparatively rare I guess
