Next season Nathan crowdsources enough money to buy out Conde Nast just so he can give a song BNM.

A Nathan thing would be to help an indie artist get BNM by putting out EPs that all get at least 3.2 scores (minimal effort), and then releasing them as a compilation album, assuring at least a 9.6 rating.

I'm not sure what Nathan was going for with this episode, but as far as punchlines in search of a joke go, his cool record producer outfits were the best.

actually getting that song to go viral somehow was clearly the goal but there's no way with that fucking beeping noise

god, kirsten dunst telling a wedding anecdote with a drug mixup story just before nathan is just the best thing ever

(also, even in that little snippet they show - she didn't realize the weed in the blunt was real until AFTER they smoked the whole thing? no wonder it was the highest she'd ever been, that was probably her first time)

Smoke detector episode was a bust

Felt pretty bad for the band members too

if you don't like the cringier moments of the show then definitely don't watch this last episode

that said the implication that Nathan's plan actually kinda did work in the end was pretty amusing

My wife is not a fan of the current season. She felt the past seasons had more emotion/heart to them. Which might be true! Smokers Allowed, the Hero episode, those things are emotionally epic and in many ways thought provoking. The new season is mostly just ... weird.

I'm glad she found her dream guy

The cut to Maria Garcia's face with the messed-up lipstick right as Salomon is asking her out is one the most brutal jokes in the history of the show. I have to say, Nathan's treatment of Salomon makes me uncomfortable in general, in much the same way that his continued targeting of business owners with a shaky grasp of English creeps me out a bit.

he's got the cutest sad look, i'm sorry, but it's true.

He mixes convincing realness + the Nathan For You character so well, especially in this last episode. Like when he had the escort watch an episode in front of him. He was being the Nathan For You character acting as if out of character: not acknowledging the show is a comedy but also not denying it, going along with the accusation that he is lying to people but not suggesting it's for humor. It's a weird overlap.

That subtitle addition could simply be a joke, his actual feelings and a joke at once, his character's feelings and a joke... who knows.

So much pathos. Watching the finale felt like watching a tragicomedy by Samuel Beckett.

Wow, this episode. My wife said it was super weird (it was) but redeemed all the episodes this season she didn't like. At the same time, this was the first time she literally had to cover her eyes once in discomfort.
