plp will eat itself (NickB), Saturday, 21 October 2017 14:37 (eight years ago)

on the evidence we've seen so far, Lindelof looks like a catastrophic signing

he literally cannot head a ball

Number None, Saturday, 21 October 2017 14:46 (eight years ago)

gonna go with 'this is fun' tbh

imago, Saturday, 21 October 2017 14:54 (eight years ago)

My stepdad was waxing lyrical about the last time he saw us defeat Man U in the 50's this morn: blah blah Jimmy Glazzard, what a player he was etc.. but also he said the Man Utd fans trashed the place after the game, and that they were most definitely Mancunians.

calzino, Saturday, 21 October 2017 15:05 (eight years ago)

I thought they trashed the town in the early 70s?

We're nothing without Fellaini.

mothfrogs and homicidal smoking haikuists (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 21 October 2017 15:33 (eight years ago)

they probably trashed it then as then as well, but that was after they won. In the 50's it was after a defeat!

calzino, Saturday, 21 October 2017 15:40 (eight years ago)

as it stands 18 mins of e/t pending, no doubt.

calzino, Saturday, 21 October 2017 15:45 (eight years ago)

GTF in Town!

calzino, Saturday, 21 October 2017 15:53 (eight years ago)

something like 80% possession in the second half

two shots on target

not good!

Number None, Saturday, 21 October 2017 15:54 (eight years ago)

I sincerely hope those grapes aren't tasting too sour tonight, pal!

calzino, Saturday, 21 October 2017 15:56 (eight years ago)

:D

imago, Saturday, 21 October 2017 15:57 (eight years ago)

no sour grapes here

we were abject

Number None, Saturday, 21 October 2017 16:04 (eight years ago)

Abjection mour honour

Gary Synaesthesia (darraghmac), Saturday, 21 October 2017 16:44 (eight years ago)

In fairness nobody should hire Jose

Gary Synaesthesia (darraghmac), Saturday, 21 October 2017 16:45 (eight years ago)

His cycle of trash toxicity is quickening each time now.

Gary Synaesthesia (darraghmac), Saturday, 21 October 2017 16:45 (eight years ago)

maybe he's stopped winning a league before becoming shit

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 21 October 2017 16:48 (eight years ago)

I know you're having your fun but I honestly don't blame Jose for this one. Just too many players underperforming/not giving a shit

Number None, Saturday, 21 October 2017 16:57 (eight years ago)

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 21 October 2017 16:58 (eight years ago)

just joking obv - i only followed it on min by min

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 21 October 2017 16:58 (eight years ago)

So what did we get after the game, surprisingly magnanimous Good Jose or surly ungracious Bad Jose?

Terry Micawber (Tom D.), Saturday, 21 October 2017 17:14 (eight years ago)

Boufal just danced through the West Brom defence brilliantly to score.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 21 October 2017 18:15 (eight years ago)

Maradona is that you?!?
No it’s Southampton’s Boufal!!! What a Goal!! my lord... pic.twitter.com/YkfKCoU5Uz

The two defenders running smack into each other is the icing on the cake.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 21 October 2017 18:36 (eight years ago)

So what did we get after the game, surprisingly magnanimous Good Jose or surly ungracious Bad Jose?

"When I lose matches, I like to lose matches because the opponents were better than us and had more quality than us. When you lose a match because of attitude, that’s really bad. I heard Ander Herrera in his flash interview saying the attitude and desire was poor. Oh my God, when a player says that and feels that, I think they should all go to the press conference and explain why. Of course, it concerns me. It happened today so why can’t it happen tomorrow. I think so honestly [it’s the first time I’ve seen that], I don’t even remember a friendly match when our attitude was so poor. They tried in the second half in difficult circumstances - the wind was tremendous. In the second half, we probably could have got a second goal but it would have been an undeserved goal and undeserved draw.”

Koeman sacking imminent

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Sunday, 22 October 2017 14:45 (eight years ago)

Utd really should have gone at Lovren eh

Number None, Sunday, 22 October 2017 15:13 (eight years ago)

this is exhilarating stuff from Son and Kane

Number None, Sunday, 22 October 2017 15:19 (eight years ago)

Lovren hooked after half an hour. Remarkable performance

Number None, Sunday, 22 October 2017 15:32 (eight years ago)

The state of this Liverpool defence. Salah looks absolutely terrifying but otherwise we look like scoring every time we get the ball.

Matt DC, Sunday, 22 October 2017 15:33 (eight years ago)

I'm relieved I cant find a stream for this

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Sunday, 22 October 2017 15:51 (eight years ago)

Gary Synaesthesia (darraghmac), Sunday, 22 October 2017 23:54 (eight years ago)

Not loving this autobiography with snippets about how he got the better of players still in the squad.

Poch out.

Gary Synaesthesia (darraghmac), Monday, 23 October 2017 07:27 (eight years ago)

I know Liverpool were a clown car at the back but Winks (and maybe Dele in a deeper role) added something that wasn't really in our midfield before - that ability to turn defence into attack that quickly. Both against Liverpool and Madrid we were breaking in a way I haven't seen since Modric was in the team. (Apart from when it was Bale basically doing it on his own). You don't get that with a midfield of Dier, Wanyama and Dembele even if that would still be my first choice against top quality opposition.

Matt DC, Monday, 23 October 2017 07:51 (eight years ago)

I think it's been an option this season after having been developed as a tactic rather than individual players, maybe comes from three at the back and playing through the centre rather than default possession through full backs, maybe worked on as a badly needed alternative to the possession/pressure based plan A

Certainly we've had more goals of this type this season already than the past two combined tho. Kane hanging around halfway line and taking ambitious first touches is a real feature these days.

Gary Synaesthesia (darraghmac), Monday, 23 October 2017 07:58 (eight years ago)

Also probably tempting fate here but Sanchez has barely put a foot wrong since joining. Obviously slotting into an already successful unit but that extra solidity probably means we can afford to be more expansive in midfield anyway.

Matt DC, Monday, 23 October 2017 08:34 (eight years ago)

And more than that, Alderweireld contract becomes just that bit less of a total disaster Risk

Rose not even back yet, lamela coming available again. It's good.

Gary Synaesthesia (darraghmac), Monday, 23 October 2017 08:45 (eight years ago)

Winks/Wilshere 2018

book it

Number None, Monday, 23 October 2017 11:18 (eight years ago)

don't think England could afford the travel insurance on Wilshere

pulled pork state of mind (Noodle Vague), Monday, 23 October 2017 11:23 (eight years ago)

Number None, Monday, 23 October 2017 12:50 (eight years ago)

"Ryan Giggs confirms he is interested in taking over as manager at either Leicester or Everton. "

“Everton being a fantastic club with a fantastic history, for me, this is a club that I would be interested in.”

calzino, Monday, 23 October 2017 17:53 (eight years ago)

me too Ryan, me too

pulled pork state of mind (Noodle Vague), Monday, 23 October 2017 17:54 (eight years ago)

When is Giggsy going to get back in the bloody game?
