Gothamist loves shake shack therefore it is for boring people

Shake Shack's food isn't amazing, but it's yummy enough and not too expensive, and you can't beat the scenery. An event on the green augments the experience, but can make waiting on line even more frustrating.

the key is to send someone through the short line to fetch beers that you drink while you're waiting in the long line

I've gone at 7pm a few times and never had to wait more than 25 or 30 minutes. burgers are grate.

there's shake shack set to open on the UWS by the natural history museum, but I think it's been postponed for awhile. suppose I will drag my lazy housebound butt over there to try it when it does.

yeah when we visited we went to shake shack at abt 2pm on a cloudy day and only had to wait like 15 min. the burger was v good, way better than anything i can get in london. also went to that place that's in the parker meridien but i think i might have preferred the shake shack one.

I will still rep for the CSD, was there in december and it is still a good diner, selling good diner food and one of the only places to eat in that neighborhood full stop.

kinda expensive (ok, really expensive) but the tasting menu at Eleven Madison Park was the best meal i've had in nyc. also the chef is kinda cute

the tonkatsu ramen is fantastic - might be the best ramen in nyc, but after tax and tip it came out to $17! SEVENTEEN DOLLARS for a bowl of ramen...... .... . . .

there is a place called jolie in brooklyn heights or cobble hill or something that supposedly has very good oysters, and $1 oyster special on wednesday PLUS 2-1 drinks for ladies. i am very tempted.

yeah $17 for a bowl of noodles seems ridiculous, but i still want to try it at least once. there has been an hour wait every time i've tried to go though, and i've been too hungry.

i think tonight though i am going to order from plump dumpling, mostly because they have the cutest menu i've ever seen

ran in there for lunch last week had an amazing soft shell crab blt wrap. good fries too.

Oh god is it softshell crab season again and am I going to have to watch my beloved friends eat bugs, carapaces and guts and all?

i never thought florent was particularly that yummy. its just that it was there and open at 4am and always (well, until more recently) had a pretty good vibe or whatever. i guess i'll miss it for nostalgia or whatever but its not like ive been there in 4 years or so anwyay since the meatpacking district turned into hell.

i need a big, juicy steak, a beautiful glass of wine and a scrumptious salad in a really elegant but woodsy, darkly-lit restaurant.

Try Lodge on Havemeyer in Williamsburg.
