the pig saves baby goat bit is, it turns out, an excellent object lesson in confirmation bias and bad sourcing. that poor gma woman who gets mocked for being suspicious...

Ok the Mambo No 5 scene is probably the hardest I’ve ever laughed at this show

so far this season seems pretty forced compared to others

kurt schwitterz, Friday, 13 October 2017 18:30 (eight years ago)

I guess, but aren't nearly all episodes of this show like that? This last episode was clearly not going to go in the direction it was "intended to", but I still think it was one of the best they've ever done

frogbs, Friday, 13 October 2017 18:55 (eight years ago)

It's easily as good as ever so far imo.

Feel like this season has done good in lightening up after the utter headfuck "the hero"

Week of Wonders (Ross), Friday, 13 October 2017 20:11 (eight years ago)

I remember trying to describe that one to someone and giving up a third of the way through

flopson, Saturday, 14 October 2017 21:40 (eight years ago)

i wonder what would have happened if Andy would have enthusiastically supported sending the terrorist threat video to Uber lol

flopson, Saturday, 14 October 2017 21:41 (eight years ago)

I would've liked to see that too

I can't deal with the fake marriage, so amazing, Nathan is full-tilt insane at this point

fgti, Monday, 16 October 2017 01:04 (eight years ago)

i love it so much

flopson, Monday, 16 October 2017 03:57 (eight years ago)

nathan is good at towing the line between scripted and actual real stakes - last ep was a mentalist shaggy dog story

Week of Wonders (Ross), Tuesday, 17 October 2017 02:36 (eight years ago)

Next Episode:

The Anecdote - Nathan hones his skills at telling stories.

just spitballing here but could this have to do with that bizarre appearance on Kimmel where he spends the entire interview telling a story about getting pulled over while in another guy's clothes? I've never seen him do an interview like that and, as mentioned in this thread, the story seemed completely made up.

frogbs, Wednesday, 18 October 2017 18:29 (eight years ago)

I wonder how many hours of mediocre footage has to be shot before, say, you get a passenger who seems legitimately triggered by 'Mambo No. 5' or another who delivers a very earnest karaoke performance of 'Yankee Doodle Dandy'.

here's the kimmel appearance

kinda think you're onto something there frogs

I wonder if there will be an episode that explains Nathan's appearance on Conan a few months back pretending to play guitar in Mac Demarco's backing band.

that seems a lot more on-brand than him just rambling about lost luggage

Nathan's the best troll around today. Increasingly I don't buy the consequences of the show, I think it's just smartly edited - but it's always been a comedy show anyway I guess

Week of Wonders (Ross), Wednesday, 18 October 2017 23:07 (eight years ago)

Ha!! I knew it!!!

frogbs, Friday, 20 October 2017 02:15 (eight years ago)

“which is typical for two strangers”

"we also got permission to snake her drain for any body parts that mightev fallen in during a shower"

johnny crunch, Friday, 20 October 2017 02:36 (eight years ago)

kirsten dunst mustve done the same anecdote analysis research

johnny crunch, Friday, 20 October 2017 02:49 (eight years ago)

anyway, next episode involves forming a band in order to sell discount smoke detectors, might explain his appearance with Mac Demarco? was there any loud beeping during the performance??

frogbs, Friday, 20 October 2017 03:15 (eight years ago)

good call w/ the jimmy kimmel bit. i wonder if they really spent $350,000 making this anecdote a reality

dynamicinterface, Saturday, 21 October 2017 00:07 (eight years ago)

Nathan at the wedding was so hilarious

Man I love Nathan Fielder

carpet_kaiser, Saturday, 21 October 2017 03:43 (eight years ago)

LOL this episode

flopson, Saturday, 21 October 2017 08:29 (eight years ago)

nathan's the best

Week of Wonders (Ross), Saturday, 21 October 2017 20:25 (eight years ago)

Lol @ the irony of how he lies to all these people in order to have a "true" story to tell on Kimmel.

Also loved this as satire of the late-night talk show format, which is a pretty lame, tired thing deserving of savage mockery imo.

davey, Sunday, 22 October 2017 05:41 (eight years ago)

Just caught up on the new season. This show fucking destroys me.

circa1916, Sunday, 22 October 2017 06:25 (eight years ago)

On season 4 but still weirdly niche. It’s probably the funniest thing on TV.

circa1916, Sunday, 22 October 2017 06:26 (eight years ago)

@davey i thought the same thing. that montage of anecdotes was amazing

maura, Sunday, 22 October 2017 10:25 (eight years ago)

the scene where he invites himself to the wedding was excruciating

gr8080, Monday, 23 October 2017 18:31 (eight years ago)

yeah as much as I love this show there are entire scenes I just have to skip

Simon H., Monday, 23 October 2017 18:33 (eight years ago)

The hilarious thing about that is the couple seemingly unaware of the art of saying "We'll get back to you on that".

Evan, Monday, 23 October 2017 18:33 (eight years ago)

also lol @ how he goes from hiding behind a tree to ripping up the dancefloor

gr8080, Monday, 23 October 2017 18:34 (eight years ago)

its even more awkward when you consider that there were probably other couples that just flat out said no, this was as close to a "yes" as he got

frogbs, Monday, 23 October 2017 18:35 (eight years ago)

series is killing it. last episode was insane

||||||||, Monday, 23 October 2017 19:06 (eight years ago)

So I've not seen him on Kimmel yet, should I go watch the new ep first or would seeing Kimmel first make more sense? Or is it entwined?

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 23 October 2017 19:41 (eight years ago)

*intertwined

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 23 October 2017 19:41 (eight years ago)

The best way is to have seen the Kimmel appearance without the knowledge that there was going to be an episode about it. The next best thing is to watch the Kimmel appearance first, then the episode.
