new york losing something that made it so captivating. this week it is moe's meat market. shed a tear for moe's. which isn't even a meat market! i miss the meat market!

Star Wars. I was drowsing on the couch half-watching the Vikings-Bears game last night, saw the first seconds of new trailer, and went back to sleep before it even registered.

there's a great new york tradition of reading that a classic establishment, one that you've never visited and maybe weren't even aware of, is going to be closing, and subsequently rushing to patronize it and mourn the loss.

In that vein, something I don't care about is Katz's Deli--from what I hear they yell at you, and you can't even put cheese on your sandwich? Nah I'm good.

yelling + no cheese = good

There's an also-ran semi-famous Jewish deli in my neighborhood called Ben's Best, and I'm perfectly happy to just go there for my occasional pastrami, even if I'll never know that Katz's is like 20% better.

however wanting to put cheese on a katz's sandwich = goyish as fuck, sry

star wars. haven't seen rogue one, haven't seen whatever A New Hope II was called. I loved the original trilogy as a child, was extremely disappointed by prequels as a teen, CGAF about new Star Wars films in 2017

Having watched all of the first season: ^^^^^^^^^^^^

A single ^ for me. I have nothing else to watch right now, so I'll give it a shot.

Mediocre writing/plotting with good atmosphere, some very good acting and a mesmerizing lead. Got tired of it after 4 episodes.

It seems to be rekindling interest in Vangelis-esque synth sounds, so there's that.

I'm way too old and tired to try to be edgy, it's just not that good a show.

New music. Not a judgment but, after years of intensely caring about and trying to keep up with The Scene, the contrast of the last several years where I have basically no wherewithal to seek out contemporary sounds has been glaring. But these Dockers sure are comfortable, and my lawn looks fantastic.

Definitely have experienced a "nothing new under the sun" effect with music in the last few years. Still get surprised by something once in a while.

Yeah, I've definitely heard good new stuff but only incidentally and through no effort on my part. My musical effort is all concentrated on the mounds of good stuff from the past I still have yet to explore.
