fuck you, your hat is horrible (Neanderthal), Sunday, 15 October 2017 02:46 (eight years ago)

I went to fine arts grad school with someone who was kind a crazy weirdo (though really everyone was sort of a weirdo on some level) but this person seemed to live a life of constant chaos and poor decisions and always made sort of half-assed and ill-concieved work that nobody ever really understood and she could never really explain and crits with her were always really awkward and embarrassing.

She's been posting pen and ink drawings every day this week and seems super pleased about them but she's just fucking AWFUL at drawing and is obviously aspiring for realism over abstraction which just makes it so much worse. So a literal artist thing that I hate and makes me feel like a jerk.

I'm very thankful that ears aren't usually connected like that

Moodles, Monday, 16 October 2017 02:56 (eight years ago)

I love the parenthetical proof that the word 'heart' contains 'ear'.

jmm, Monday, 16 October 2017 03:03 (eight years ago)

can't argue with math

Moodles, Monday, 16 October 2017 03:09 (eight years ago)

i cant make my ears into a heart

Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 16 October 2017 03:37 (eight years ago)

There are memes/tshirts/etc. saying "without ART the EARTH is just EH."

Without EAR the HEART is just HT

looser than lucinda (Ye Mad Puffin), Monday, 16 October 2017 11:59 (eight years ago)

This isn't a meme but people's tendency right now to say things like

"This has been a really dark week, so it's time for me to share these pics of a clumsy horse I saw in Fuengirola"

"I know it's the apocalypse and Trump will murder us all but here's my thoughts on the new Husker Du reissue"

counterpoint: she's the jerk for getting all the way through a fine arts degree without realizing she is horrible!

My latest irritation are people who like to post "helpful" shit. LIke I have one friend who endlessly, week after week, posts reminder posts about how people should keep their fucking 18 year olds in car seats. Or my aunt who is always posting shit like "remember to watch out for trick or treaters while driving!" Oh thanks auntie, I was planning on fucking driving over hoards of masked creatures because I thought there was a goddamned monster invasion, I forgot that they were little kids.

"In short: I want a Realdoll"

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 1 November 2017 17:26 (eight years ago)

looool

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 1 November 2017 17:27 (eight years ago)

if one were to ever make the transition between human partners to Realdolls, that would actually be a really good conversation template for how to break the ice in discussing it with the human. just a list of all the things you want, and then subtly make the point that a Realdoll could also do those things, as you walk over to the closet and pull one out, fully inflated.

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 1 November 2017 17:31 (eight years ago)

Lol, that's waaaayyy to close for comfort, it is going to happen, I'm sure.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 1 November 2017 18:05 (eight years ago)

My latest irritation are people who like to post "helpful" shit.

I live in a city with a gigantic university (more like a gigantic university with a city attached) and every big "event" week - homecoming, halloween, home football games - the city posts a bunch of helpful things about not drinking too much, not doing stupid shit, and how you can bring drunk underage people to the hospital without getting in legal trouble, etc.

Yesterday there was a cartoon drawing of three ducks in witch hats dumping out their trick-or-treating loot into a pile next to a jack-o-lantern with helpful text below about how you should eat while you're out drinking so you don't get too fucked up.

joygoat, Wednesday, 1 November 2017 18:31 (eight years ago)

Day Two.
Seven days.
Seven black and white photos of your life.
No people. No explanation.
Challenge someone new each day.
xxx thanks for the challenge... I challenge you, yyy

I hate this crap, why do people do this? makes you feel like a dick if you don't respond, also makes the other person feel like a dick for playing along.

also fuck black and white photos with no people in it.
