My guess is that the season will work towards the gang and Michael teaming up against the larger aggressor (being Holt's husband from Brooklyn 99).

There is a typically TV critic indulgent thread on Twitter at the moment - they've decided it's a TV show about storytelling and other TV shows. I get the inclination but that is a godawful boring take on it.

i'm rewatching on netflix and it definitely works better as a binge. a chapter a week is fine but less satisfying.

Michael isn't supposed to be omniscient - he's the guy setting up the Sims world and letting it run.

Just blew through the entire series this weekend. I paid no attention to the episode count so I was shocked when I realized the first season was over.

Not much to say that hasn't already been said. It's great, and I wish I hadn't sat on it for so long. Recognizing glimmers of oneself in the main characters is kind of a 'fun' game (the familiarity of Eleanor's relationship with her coworkers stung a bit).

I spoiled myself by peeking at this thread. The impact was lessened slightly but the twist almost seems to be the jumping-off point of the series rather than a Shyamalan-esque 'DID I BLOW YOUR MIND?!?' moment. So, yeah, definitely worth watching.

Main cast aside (all excellent), it's lovely to be reminded how amazing Adam Scott is at playing a total douche. He has such a range, that one.

It took me way too many hours to realize that this is No Exit: The Sitcom.

I am hopeful for more amazing Jianyu/Jason content

This show cements for me the opinion that I should always make an effort to check out Michael Schur-driven shows.

2. Absolutely. Knowing the "twist" is what made me start watching the show and it is super, super hilarious regardless.

It's beside the point but now I find myself wondering what all the other 'extras' are doing with their time when not interacting with the humans. Just eating Hawaiian pizza I guess?

I am interested to see how they flesh out the cosmology. Like, assuming those people are actually demons or something like it, how much of a drag must it be to behave like such paragons of humanity all the time and not bite people or flatten their penises? I expect we'll be seeing more Denise-ing as the experiment continues.

Just finished Chapter 16. This show keeps reinventing itself and its character relationships so quickly I wonder how long it will take for the story to burn itself out. That said, I love it so much.

i was reluctant to check this out because i thought it was by some pushing daisies people, and then it seemed super like it was even though it turns out i was wrong about that, but i guess it has turned out ok anyway, except that i am kind of expecting it to become a little insufferable or nauseating like pushing daisies. maybe the lack of a tru luv theme will ensure that it can't.

My mom liked Pushing Daisies, but I never watched it. I can guarantee you my mom would hate this show.

watched S2E2 last night and i really do kinda like the wobbly nature of things. i don't know what is gonna happen. and i dig that. i also kinda like the idea of them pretending to be miserable for a whole season just to help michael which makes no sense! but what else are they gonna do?

Really enjoyed the first episode of A Man on the Inside. Love Ted Danson so much

Finished this now. So, so good. It doesn't have as many laughs as The Good Place (although still has plenty) but it's charming, funny, sad and poignant and Ted Danson is an absolute joy throughout.

Good to know, will give this a shot someday, hopefully

we binged it in a few nights, it's easygoing and enjoyable, would happily watch a second series.
