I'd argue that Bannon's appearance (like Trump's) isn't wholly irrelevant inasmuch as his general state of physical disrepair is probably at least somewhat reflective of the tattered state of his mind. I mean, it takes some savage self-abuse to end up looking like a fistful of used toilet paper dipped in pancake batter.

As I've said of Trump a number of times: he only looks like that because he's chosen to dispense with the basic level of upkeep and self-care people engage in to avoid being mistaken for a week-old ham discovered on the floor of a public park restroom.
