eating them anyway.

I had a Starbucks veggie crunchwrap for lunch today. The bounty of NJ highwayland.
― Hurting 2, Friday, 4 April 2008 20:13 (eighteen years ago)
I've been at work for 24 minutes. Is it too early to bump this thread?
― Upt0eleven, Friday, 18 April 2008 08:57 (eighteen years ago)
I've been here for two minutes, so certainly not.
― Øystein, Friday, 18 April 2008 09:12 (eighteen years ago)
Screw this, I'm going out again to buy myself a sugarbomb bun and a cuppa hot chocolate. Being an adult is brilliant!
― Øystein, Friday, 18 April 2008 09:17 (eighteen years ago)
It's not bad. Also not bad is the fact that no-one here seems to be interested in what work I'm doing, or if i'm doing any at all. They've introduced performance-based bonuses to my package but they're not as motivating as one might expect. I start looking for a new job tomorrow now.
― Upt0eleven, Friday, 18 April 2008 10:38 (eighteen years ago)
What is the job, Nick?
― Mark C, Friday, 18 April 2008 10:41 (eighteen years ago)
The one I'm doing? It's internet marketing, of a kind. I've learned quite a lot and gained some valuable SEO experience but it was never the ideal job and when I took it 6 months ago I was in no position to be choosy - debts to sort out, rent to pay and no other offers on the table. I don't have those hanging over me anymore.
I've been here six months, which seems to be just about long enough, and the whole thing is seriously grating at this point. The commute is too long and too expensive, the work is beyond tedious and not as well paid as an equivalent position nearer to home, my colleagues, although not bad people, drive me round the bend on a daily basis.
I'm gonna contact the company that very nearly employed me before but decided to go for someone with more web 2.0 experience - which I now have - before I start properly shopping around.
I know work is work and I shouldn't be so moany but I'm not looking for a dream job - just a marginal improvement.
― Upt0eleven, Friday, 18 April 2008 11:02 (eighteen years ago)
only 40 minutes left. SAVE ME!
― Oilyrags, Friday, 9 May 2008 19:51 (eighteen years ago)
Dude what the hell time is it there? It is 1:51 p.m. here. Texas. Oh god.
― Abbott, Friday, 9 May 2008 19:54 (eighteen years ago)
It's 3pm. But I come in at seven and 'work' til 3:30 with a half hour lunch, so 3:30 makes eight hours.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 9 May 2008 20:01 (eighteen years ago)
Uh, why should I? If it were 8 AM then maybe...
― stevienixed, Friday, 9 May 2008 20:01 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, so you'd save the guy on the shore who hasn't gone swimming yet, but the dude who's almost drowned already get's a 'why should I?'?
Thanks a LOT.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 9 May 2008 20:03 (eighteen years ago)

Dude, my bosses need to stop beating each other up.
Wow, these motherfuckers need a weekend off.
― B.L.A.M., Friday, 9 May 2008 21:16 (eighteen years ago)
Yikes, I read that as "my bosses need to stop beating each other off."
― BigLurks, Friday, 9 May 2008 21:17 (eighteen years ago)

― carne asada, Friday, 23 May 2008 19:47 (eighteen years ago)
It's not afternoon here just but I've already mentally checked out. Ho hum. SO BORED!
― ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:11 (eighteen years ago)
Last day at this temp assignment. Day after my birthday and mildly hung over on scotch.
Yeah, I'm gonna be REAL productive.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:11 (eighteen years ago)
Your birthday was yesterday?? Happy birthday!
― ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:15 (eighteen years ago)
Yes. I am 39, now. Only 364 days left to delude myself that I'm not REALLY middle-aged.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:16 (eighteen years ago)
Is 40 still considered middle-aged?
― ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:17 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, it's considered genuinely old now, is it?
― Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:17 (eighteen years ago)
Hey - you know what I meant!!
― ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:18 (eighteen years ago)
haha, yeah, I just can't help but kick the shit out of myself.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:20 (eighteen years ago)
Alright, here's the question of the day:
I can think of nothing more enticing for me today than buying a 22 oz beer, putting it in some opaque container, and having it as a road soda on the way home. Mind you, I live in LA, have a 22 mile drive to get home, and it will be Friday afternoon traffic.
Seriously - one beer. Not three or five, but one.
Should I do this - yes or no?
― B.L.A.M., Friday, 30 May 2008 16:10 (eighteen years ago)
nah just have five and then get a taxi home.
― ken c, Friday, 30 May 2008 16:11 (eighteen years ago)
That would be more expensive than flying from LAX to Burbank!
― B.L.A.M., Friday, 30 May 2008 16:49 (eighteen years ago)
oh in that case do that!!
― ken c, Friday, 30 May 2008 16:51 (eighteen years ago)
1 oz. per mile sounds auspicious
― elmo argonaut, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:05 (eighteen years ago)
How about riding dirty with an open container of alkeehawl?
― B.L.A.M., Friday, 30 May 2008 17:14 (eighteen years ago)
B.L.A.M., is there any reason you might have for getting pulled over? Tail light out? Expired registration, etc?
― Michael White, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:17 (eighteen years ago)
How much time does it actually take to get home?
― Bimble, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:21 (eighteen years ago)
I don't know - it sounds risky to me even though you'd probably be fine. I've always been very cautious with drinking and driving stuff.
Guys, I'm dying here. Three more hours. I can do this. I think.
― ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:37 (eighteen years ago)
You're instincts are good. Nah, my car is clean and tagged.
I'm almost 100% kidding. I'm not going to do this. It wouldn't be smart at all.
― B.L.A.M., Friday, 30 May 2008 17:47 (eighteen years ago)
