apparently Bran's capacity to see into the future and apply that knowledge to the present day is limited, as he failed to take note of the concepts of trauma and triggering.

half of GoT's drama comes from people hinting at things and never finishing their thought, or never saying what they're thinking. so there's a lot of misunderstanding, like I'm pretty sure jon snow is the king of this, he silently simmered and brooded his away into an assassination at the Wall.
