pickle rick sounded terrible on paper but worked excessively well as a joke delivery device in practicethe commitment and long term engagement with campy pop-culture ideas puts R&M sometimes perilously close to Family Guy territory but they somehow manage to always save the day with a strong underlying intelligence and a genuine nihilism that rings true
