Yeah, my amusement is partly the idea of someone expecting to find people advertising White Power nights on a neighbourhood group in South Tottenham, and partly because I'd never heard of Race Nights before - the idea of betting on a film of a race seems largely unsuited to the modern era in a lot of ways (I am probably being Sneering Metropolitan Elite here)

It is for any age groups but not for children.

So our neighbors just loooove to use the word 'thug' for ant black guy just walking down the street. I got into a lengthy argument with this guy. Oh and hey what - I'm a snowflake and a tattle tale because I said I was going to ask the mod to remove all posts with racial slurs in them. Now god forgive if you were to say shit or fuck or cunt. Free speech is for the government to control. Anyone who runs a group or a company or a whatever is free to do whatever the shit they want to shut peoples speech down. I dont get why people dont understand this.

I should add that the only reason I'm leaning on the offensive word theme is because, a week or so before, this other guy calls the board out on all the racism - veiled and not so much. A bunch of posters shouted him down on the pretense of offensive language because he used ' god' in a colloquial sense in his thread title.

Then along came good ol David to tell him the site does not tolerate offensive language. He followed that up by deleting a bunch of posts but not the thread so the title remained. So stupid.

So he's happy to tell people what they can and cant say when god is involved?

My small town Facebook group put up a sensational story titled "CHOAS AS LORRY BLOCKS [piddling little street] FOR THIRTY MINUTES!!!" and have now apparently blocked me for making fun of them. It's probably for the best I suppose.

Someone posted their kids' three old Halloween costumes for sale on our neighborhood parent forum. One was an obviously offensive Native American costume. Some people called her out for it, and when she refused to get rid of the costume, a heroic friend of mine who I will just call Lea offered to pay her $10 for it so she could dispose of it herself. The woman actually took her up on it, and said she would leave it with her doorman.

I have been avoiding nextdoor because I saw a dead cat in the road last week and was too stressed at the end of the day to go deal with it. It's a very busy area as far as neighbors and pedestrian traffic goes, so I temporarily relieved myself of responsibility, vowing to gather it up in the morning and seek the owners if it was still there. Luckily, it was gone.
