maybe taking crowdsourcing too far

The Remoans of the May (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 30 May 2017 15:58 (nine years ago)

the few conversations i've had with my postman lead me to believe that a serial killer delivers packages to my house way more frequently than once a month

That's a parody right

Honestly those postal game packages do appeal to me, but they're usually hideously overpriced. Also I totally get why "what if a serial killer delivered packages to your door" is a ridiculous advert.

emil.y, Tuesday, 30 May 2017 16:15 (nine years ago)

oh, i bet it would be fun! it basically seems like a physical irl version of an interactive story game, right?

Wolf In White Van is probs what piqued a lot of Ilxors' interests in this kind of thing

I could totally see myself inventing some great fried chicken when I'm 65, and by inventing I mean eating a large platter of it

i guess whatever happened in the intervening decade certainly warrants a crisis

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 1 June 2017 18:59 (nine years ago)

when you're 35 you just sit there and take a shit, thinking of your future business opportunities

Karl Malone, Thursday, 1 June 2017 19:01 (nine years ago)

That's when you think of fried chicken.

I don't think all that many people get married when they're 20 anymore, but whatevs; I presume it's not meant to be rigorous.

Midlife crisis at 35, fuck off wi'that.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Friday, 2 June 2017 00:05 (nine years ago)

imo mid-life crisis is a free floating range, you can drift into it any time between 35 and 50

or whenever you buy that corvette

mh, Friday, 2 June 2017 00:38 (nine years ago)

...I dont get that tshirt. Whys it a misquoted GoT thing?

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Friday, 2 June 2017 01:33 (nine years ago)

mid-life crisis is a free floating range, you can drift into it any time between 35 and 50

Possibly because people die at different ages. If you have it when you're 35 that means you'll die when you're 70.

kajagoogoo's kazooist (Ye Mad Puffin), Friday, 2 June 2017 02:50 (nine years ago)

you're assuming a crisis is a moment and not an ongoing condition!

mh, Friday, 2 June 2017 02:53 (nine years ago)

mine started right around age 23 iirc but i've extended my lifespan considerably by picking a few saturdsys a month and putting it on pause

﴿→ ☺ (Doctor Casino), Friday, 2 June 2017 03:31 (nine years ago)

I flipped out in my late 20s and tried to conform to a bunch of conventions that I thought would make life better. Now it's, like you say, searching for those saturdays

mh, Friday, 2 June 2017 03:58 (nine years ago)

Well, I'm 56 and I still haven't had one.

Then again, I had a bad illness at 21, so every year is a bonus effectively..

Mark G, Friday, 2 June 2017 06:39 (nine years ago)

Wait, was I supposed to have one?

Elvis Telecom, Friday, 2 June 2017 07:26 (nine years ago)

They overrated.

So, basically if you get to a certain age, and decide you want a sporty car, that's level one.

A sporty girlfriend, that's level five (two if you're not actually married, etc)

What else?

Mark G, Friday, 2 June 2017 10:58 (nine years ago)

change career paths when you have a good job, go back to school, change your lifestyle by becoming some crazed marathon runner, become an expat somewhere with a low coat of living, post on craigslist looking for someone interested in cannibalism to eat you

mh, Friday, 2 June 2017 12:44 (nine years ago)

i'm one for five there, and i keep juuuuust missing on the cannibalism partner

Karl Malone, Friday, 2 June 2017 14:08 (nine years ago)

keep hustling karl, you'll find that special cannibal one day

heck i've even been an 'oyster pirate' (bizarro gazzara), Friday, 2 June 2017 14:14 (nine years ago)

the problem is that traditionally, you have to eat others before you are eaten, and that has been an absolute mess to arrange

Karl Malone, Friday, 2 June 2017 14:17 (nine years ago)

classic catch-22

when will our poLIEticians wake up and deregulate the cannibal industry

animator is very much a facebook viral artist; this stuff is too obvious even for political cartoons

Not sure I get the recurrent "trenchant commentary" sarcasm with a lot of this stuff, like these cartoons. Yeah they are simplistic, obvious, etc., but doesn't being on Facebook mean engaging w people who require or are drawn to simple messaging? These cartoons are not at all insightful but they are "accurate" in a broad sense, and evidently in America at least they are not at all obvious to something like 38% of the population.

I don't know, seems like a lot of liberal guilt snobbery at the wrong people but then again I'm "not on Facebook" which is the ultimate snob move

Hadrian VIII, Monday, 5 June 2017 15:01 (nine years ago)

most of the memes on here are neither insightful nor "accurate", reducing complex issues to slogans is a bad thing that makes public discourse worse

Covfefe growing vpon the skull of a man (Noodle Vague), Monday, 5 June 2017 15:03 (nine years ago)

I should add that I am grateful to you guys and appreciate all the dirty work as this thread has kept me safe from FB in homeopathic doses
