This is where I complain about it being 14C (about 58F, I guess) in Scotland, which is too hot with the amount of moisture. I can't function.

mookieproof, Thursday, 18 May 2017 13:41 (nine years ago)

You're alright. I think I would just die over there. I spent a couple of months in the US (during a heatwave) about 20yrs ago and have stayed in Scotland since. (Also I hate flying). But I can't stop sweating - two showers before lunchtime.

Eallach mhór an duine leisg (dowd), Thursday, 18 May 2017 13:46 (nine years ago)

Take that same amount of Scottish moisture, and then make it about 40º C.

sick of this heat - a couple hours of rain in the whole summer here, what a tease

Week of Wonders (Ross), Monday, 4 September 2017 19:45 (eight years ago)

tell me about it. it's predicted to be 98F today. we've since exactly 0.05" of rain since about the middle of June. the entire state is covered with smoke from wildfires and at noon the sun looks orange. if I liked this sort of shit I'd live in California!

i've lived in the NYC metro area my whole life and never has there been an October 8 where I haven't yet seen a yellow or brown leaf... til now

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Monday, 9 October 2017 02:40 (eight years ago)

Sitting in the dark in shorts and a tank top feeling sticky. This stupidity is depriving us of a fall in which you can look forward to putting on a sweatshirt or drinking tea. Being hot and sweaty makes me very uncomfortable and sick-feeling but I'm actually more angry at being denied seasonal experiences.

Conic section rebellion 44 (in orbit), Monday, 9 October 2017 15:17 (eight years ago)

one of my co-workers is a runner. his rule of thumb is that if the (fahrenheit) temperature + dew point > 150, it's too unpleasant and borderline dangerous to run.

that sum was 151 this morning at midnight on october 9

mookieproof, Monday, 9 October 2017 15:25 (eight years ago)

i was doing 11 minute miles yesterday; i think that's the slowest i've gone in like two years

played flag football on saturday and after a half-hour we were all as red-faced as elderly Kennedys.

evol j, Monday, 9 October 2017 15:40 (eight years ago)

i don't like this "weather" (ie environmental catastrophe) but looking forward to putting on a sweatshirt or drinking tea is weird. :)

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Monday, 9 October 2017 15:51 (eight years ago)

gonna be in the mid-80s tomorrow in central jersey. not looking forward to sweatshirts but definitely tired of sweating

reggie (qualmsley), Monday, 9 October 2017 15:54 (eight years ago)

It's the difference between being hugged by your clothes vs wishing you could peel off your skin.

i prefer not to think about my clothes, and my wardrobe can attest to that.

it was 69 in Milwaukee today. too hot? not really, but weird for the season.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 24 November 2017 23:32 (eight years ago)

[Current temperature anomaly](http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/tanal/temp_analyses.php) doesn't get weird until west of the Bismarck-OK City line on the plains. In Rapid City, SD (for max T) or the Oregon/Idaho badlands (for min T) its pretty off the charts.

1st AC of the year today. Actually a good bit later than last year.

true, i guess, but i find the jump from a high of 49°F monday to 89°F today uncalled for. tbf there's nil humidity but let's just ease our way into things, please

mookieproof, Thursday, 3 May 2018 02:55 (eight years ago)

I thought I was just being my usual dramatic and hyperbolic self when I was complaining that it was just going to shift from winter to summer overnight but I'll be goddamned. Delete the weather, plz + thx.
