i think this season might be the closest we've ever gotten to RuPaul's Best Friend Race?

Absolutely. There is zero drama here. Not a terrible thing, but I could use a beef right about now

And then next week is all blood or something.

So containing some speculation: we've winnowed out some chaff. Who is your top three at this point?

I think the top 3 are gonna be Sasha, Shea, and maybe Alexis. I think ppl will go home in this order:

Farrah
Aja
Peppermint
Nina
Trinity
Valentina
Alexis
Sasha
Shea

I do hope I'm wrong (I'd like to see Valentina, Trinity, and Alexis go home earlier and Peppermint and Nina stick around for a while) but that's my gut.

Valentina is so inexplicably overrated. They tell queen after queen after queen to stop relying on that bodyodyody and yet

i'm surprised you hate valentina tbh, she's obviously done her homework w/ runways looks and has an encyclopedic knowledge of fashion houses, plus she's hilarious and witty and cute as fuck. i think she'll go far after the show if she isn't at least top 3.

i don't hate her, i think she's pretty great, i just think she's a weird robot and that there are like 4 or 5 better queens than her! I do enjoy the glimpses of the Real Her that we've gotten over the past few episodes. Also the fact that I find her overpraised makes me a little resentful. But I don't hate her.

I want Nina to be in the top 3 but I think she's going to sabotage herself :(

realistically though I think Trinity & Alexis both want it bad, and they are pushing themselves competitively each week enough that either of them could easily eclipse a favorite queen and make top 3. the other queens need to be careful & not get complacent bc both these bitches are hungry af. they are both talented AND studiously working to improve & both have humor & acting talents & a generally impressive well of skills to draw from

they're not my faves but they are circling like sharks & i kinda respect that

i put alexis (this is the most basic pageant drag name right?) in a group with shannel and roxxy andrews of potato-y looking queens who are pretty much consistently mediocre and annoying as hell but somehow stick around waaaay after they should

my top 3 is just queens i love and want to win, but realistically shea is def top 3 material, she's really good & came to play

being super nitpicky here but i don't like shea's makeup, she puts way too much white on the inner corners of her eyes & it always looks a little unfinished. except for her madonna & naomi looks this week her wigs havd beem kinda shitty quality

shea and trixie are pals and both got their start in chicago so it makes sense for shea to borrow ideas from her

Yeah, Farrah and Aja are the next two to go for sure. Beyond that, I could see them going in any order. No one is the runaway winner yet for me, but it's looking pretty evenly matched beyond that. Top 3 usually covers as many bases as possible, so the smart prediction would be:

Shea
Valentina
Sasha

What you all saw in last week's lip sync, I saw in this week's. Nina's facial expressions in those Thriller contacts were everything!

i didn't think that lip sync was particularly awful or exceptional but i legit could not tell who was winning and actually thought aja had it

Nina's performance fit the song better, though they were both entertaining.

At least we got to see Aja's surprisingly neat penmanship!
