When you go to the settings page, what version do you see at the bottom? There are a couple people running the original broken version.

I think I have that one figured out. Update coming hopefully tomorrow.

um, this is interesting. Navigation needs work, but hey..
― Mark G, Monday, 20 March 2017 16:31 (seven years ago) link
yeah don't let my whining sway you, this is awesome, could change the way i interact with the site. feature request: text search/find in page across all screens
― goole, Monday, 20 March 2017 19:13 (seven years ago) link
Request: little dot or bar down the side that moves so you can see how far you've scrolled
― écorché (S-), Tuesday, 21 March 2017 11:31 (seven years ago) link
Just pushed an update that should fix some bugs (don't worry, not all of them.) You might experience some weirdness the first time you connect to a server, if so is because app moved to https.
Mark, tell me your navigation ideas.

Cool, thanks Lukas! Nice new icon too :)
― ArchCarrier, Wednesday, 22 March 2017 06:37 (seven years ago) link
maybe after bookmarking a message the app should send you back to bookmarks?
― niels, Wednesday, 22 March 2017 06:54 (seven years ago) link
Yeah, that's a good one.
― ArchCarrier, Wednesday, 22 March 2017 08:09 (seven years ago) link
feature request: if you're already on the New Answers page and scrolled down, tapping the New Answers tab insta-scrolls you up to the top - unless i missed it there's currently no quick way to scroll up to the top / refresh if you're scrolled way down the list.

I've had some issues with posts not appearing so let's see if this works.
― Matt DC, Monday, 27 March 2017 19:13 (seven years ago) link
Things are going to be quiet for a while, but if anyone has a serious problem - like say if you can reliably reproduce an issue with posting - give a shout and I'll try to fix.

setting and using bookmarks too
― StanM, Thursday, 18 May 2017 15:20 (seven years ago) link
i had to stop using this because if you try to post and someone post before you lose everything you just wrote .
― (•̪●) (carne asada), Thursday, 18 May 2017 15:28 (seven years ago) link
Yeah, the same thing happens to me every time.
― Tuomas, Thursday, 18 May 2017 15:35 (seven years ago) link
It's sad, I'd be willing to pay money for this app if it, 1) didn't lose your posts every time you start writing one and someone else posts before you (I don't think this was problem before, so maybe the recent ILX code change has caused it?), 2) the search function was included, and 3) there was a way to remove bookmarks. Other than that, it works perfectly.
― Tuomas, Thursday, 18 May 2017 15:42 (seven years ago) link
Oh, sorry, I just realised there is a way to remove bookmarks! Scratch that from the list then.
― Tuomas, Thursday, 18 May 2017 15:44 (seven years ago) link
In retrospect, having someone who generally lurks write this app was going to lead to some oversights. I'll post here when the crosspost problem is fixed.I would like search too but unfortunately it's not coming in the next couple months.
― Uhura Mazda (lukas), Thursday, 18 May 2017 20:01 (seven years ago) link
i like it a lot! i use it a lot too. i hadn't noticed the xpost problem i guess
is there a way to sort out the bookmark variance between the app and web? and/or view full list of bookmarks, not just those that are updated?
― goole, Thursday, 18 May 2017 20:12 (seven years ago) link
how do you remove bookmarks in the app?
― niels, Thursday, 18 May 2017 21:24 (seven years ago) link
long click on the one you want to remove, popup appears
― StanM, Thursday, 18 May 2017 21:28 (seven years ago) link
lukas, thanks so much for making this! It is clean, simple and FAST: the ILX spirit in a nutshell.
If you are still looking for feedback, I would second most of the notes already made, and add only that being able to view my full Bookmarks page (in tandem with having some kind of Control-F analogue) would be excellent (I had to switch to browser to find this thread and post this), that some stylesheet customizability would be great (mainly though I just want quoted text to show up in a shaded box - it's a little too easy to miss the thin vertical line next to the text), and that something like the 'three years pass...' dividers for dormant threads would be good so you have to use less of your brain to catch where the current revive begins. But imho this is a really solid base, and probably more than 80 percent of the way to completely providing the ilx experience in the palm of my hand! Bravo.

I still want to use it but can't figure out how to get it sync with my browser sessions

hi, new version up that detects crossposts and saves drafts.
more to come, slowly.

Thanks, Lukas!
― ArchCarrier, Tuesday, 27 June 2017 19:29 (seven years ago) link
Moodles, what's happening? When you first logged into the app, did you see all your bookmarks, it's just that updates don't sync? Or did you not see your bookmarks?
― Uhura Mazda (lukas), Tuesday, 27 June 2017 19:38 (seven years ago) link
If I open the app, i see my bookmarks come up correctly, but then if I update them, nothing carries over to my browser
― Moodles, Tuesday, 27 June 2017 20:27 (seven years ago) link
test

^
I was able to successfully post, maybe I need to play with it more
woo!another minor thought: maybe a little dot on the right hand side, or horizontal 'progress bar' tucked into the thread title bar, to indicate how close you are to the bottom of the thread?
― ﴿→ ☺ (Doctor Casino), Wednesday, 28 June 2017 14:08 (seven years ago) link
I can confirm the bookmarks-not-carrying-over issue - if it helps, it seems to only be an issue for switching to browser on this same device. On my desktop, all bookmarks are correctly updated. So maybe it's actually an issue with how Android or the Chrome app are handling the browser cache?
― ﴿→ ☺ (Doctor Casino), Thursday, 29 June 2017 12:00 (seven years ago) link
also a feature for opening ilxor thread links in-app instead of launching browser?
― niels, Monday, 3 July 2017 14:06 (seven years ago) link
More misc ideas/notes (emphatically not demands - I am using the shit out of this app so in general count me as satisfied!):* some shortcut function that loads the whole thread and puts you at the top would be real handy. I'm using this a lot on the subway when I kinda just want to load up a meaty thread for a 'longform' read, so scrolling up and whacking the load-more button repeatedly feels a bit kludgey.* crosspost warning doesn't seem to work quite right - dumps you back to the thread, without the new post you're crossing, so you can't really adjust your reply or anything. then if you go to your reply and try to post it again, it still thinks you've got an xpost even though it's the same "new" post that's blocking you up... have to go back out to threads/bookmarks and back in for it to shake out of this.* in general if my connection comes and goes or if I switch from data to wifi, the threads/bookmarks get hung up in a spinning refresh icon. have to force close the app and restart. that's pretty easy on my phone but I wonder if there is an easy fix?* shortcut buttons to add bbbcode to replies (maybe another icon above the pink pencil?) would be great. ideally one could select txt and click to have it be bold, quotes, whatever, but I dunno how hard that would be.* when writing a long post like this one, the pink pencil covers up what you're writing.still groovin!
