Saw that dynamic in action recently at a beer garden in Pk Slope, kids playing a loud game directly under the television during a World Cup game that many people were there to watch. Tbh I thought it should be up to the bar staff to ask them to behave appropriately, not on other patrons. Not that it's easy for the staff either, but customers policing other customers seems like NAGL. The issue isn't really children being there as much as parents who treat all spaces as children's spaces imo.

Brewery near me with bar/restaurant attachment and sorta family friendly game and activity spaces like a lot of these places do now recently instituted a “No kids after 6” rule and it’s gotten a lot of parents riled up.
Was not uncommon for parents to just chill out while their kids ran around the place unattended and it was consistently causing issues.
Have sympathy for attentive parents doing it right (or at least trying), but goddamn after recently having a herd of kids running wild in a similar space and nearly getting my coffee kicked all over my laptop while the responsible parent sat by and said nothing I’m very OK with it.
