When I saw the McDonald's hot apple pie on that list lauded as nature's perfect food, I knew not to trust a word of it.

Why do so many people think In-N-Out Burger is better than Five Guys????
― Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 28 February 2017 09:01 (nine years ago)
^^^^
― softie (silby), Tuesday, 28 February 2017 15:31 (nine years ago)
the 'california prices' aspect of the list should be a clue
― maura, Tuesday, 28 February 2017 15:38 (nine years ago)
in n out has chopped chilis, is cheap, doesn't force obnoxious portion sizes (unless u want it), better fries
― éž, Tuesday, 28 February 2017 15:44 (nine years ago)
theres been a huge proliferation of local burger chains here in the last 10 years almost all of which are preferable to five guys/in-n-out, but fried chicken is still a challenge
― ciderpress, Tuesday, 28 February 2017 15:49 (nine years ago)
in n out has chopped chilis
They do?! Do you have to ask for them?

never been to in n out but from what I understand the entire menu is a secret and every individual food item must be ordered using a complicated code that takes several years of studying to master
― qualx, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 16:23 (nine years ago)
also that list sucks because popeyes biscuits aren't in the top 5 wth

In n Out is delicious, but it's sort of a special "once per visit to California" treat - not sure how I would feel about it as a regular burger choice. I don't know how much reality there is to it, but I've convinced myself that it's as close as you can get to what the pre-McDonalds true American Graffiti type burger joint was like, in terms of sizzling greasy patties slapped together with fried onions and all of that. 5 Guys is just kind of gross in my experience, though the decor is surely contributing to that a bit.

I've had both in n out and five guys once and now haven't eaten meat in years but iirc in n out was way, way, way better than five guys
― Islamic State of Mind (jim in vancouver), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 17:58 (nine years ago)
five guys isn't even as good as burger king

In-N-Out is basically the only fast-food franchise I will patronize - and even then it is strictly a "place to eat while on road trip across the state" thing. It's good.
― Îá˝ĎΚĎ, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 17:28 (nine years ago)

Itâs official: Starting May 1st, you will no longer be able to order this popular McDonaldâs menu item.Itâs the sweet, iconic beverage thatâs been on the menu for decades; the popular drink that complements Happy Meals and evokes feelings of nostalgia with each sip. And starting May 1st, it will start disappearing from McDonaldâs menus everywhere. The fan-favorite drink thatâs getting the axe is... Hi-C Orange Lavaburst! Thatâs right, the same refreshing beverage that cooled you off after a romp around the PlayPlace and tasted especially good with McNuggets dipped in honey. It may be an old wivesâ tale, but some adults swear by the vibrant orange drink as a hangover cure. Sadly, customers only have a few more days to get their hands on it.Franchises nationwide will start phasing out the popular beverage starting on May 1 through July. After July, all locations will stop carrying Hi-C Orange Lavaburst, according to a McDonaldâs representative we spoke to. Instead, the fast food chain will start distributing a new proprietary Sprite TropicBerry beverage that will only be served at McDonaldâs restaurants in partnership with the chainâs deal with Coke.
