Your Boring Saturday Night

Mowed the yard, showered, thinking about a tomato sandwich or two, and a beer or two.

Had the best fresh tomato sammy yesterday - toasted italian bread, some olive tapenade, thick sliced heritage tomatoes, thick slices of fresh mozzarella. Totally yum.

Okay, back to boringness.

slept until 3PM, cashed a $5000 check then cooked fried chicken, then walked the dog to the supermarket, then a 1 hr bike ride, then beer and bourbon time, ran out of beer, rode bike to beer store for 2 24 oz. Sierra Nevadas, had 1 Sierra Nevada with intermittent shots of bourbon, took photos of things in the house placed next to other things, fucked wife, cooked a frozen pizza, watching American women play a beach volleyball match against Japanese women on The Olympics™, gonna ride bike more tomorrow A.M., it sucks that Bernie Mac died

slept til 2, paid the state half my paycheck, did the budget and realized i'm in the red for at least the next month, went to work, found out the one coworker i like is quitting to move back home, goin home tonight to drink warm white wine and watch fistful of dollars

gbx: i understand where you're at, man. do you have a local alt weekly? when i first moved here i found people by going to regular events listed in the austin chronicle. that helped me get out of the house and meet new people with similar interests. some of those people turned into friends. as corny as it sounds, ilx was a big help too. "internet friends"

"internet friends" can be just as good at listening and getting excited about records and talkin shit about movies as "real friends."

Internet played up because of shitty weather. Watched Broken Flowers. Slept. Pretty much par for the course.

grilled some shishito peppers, unpacked some shit from boxes/bags that i got out of my storage space, listened to the puerto rican bar across the street blast some freestyle and classic house, watched a catfight involving a baby mama, a wife, and a babyless mistress, sorted thru some clothes, about to pop a japanese "relaxation" pill. FUNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Watching Olympics

watched half of sweet movie, half of that horrible 90s version of the odyssey. went to a fancy bar/restaurant at midnight to find food and drunnk texted my ex about how their grilled cheese wasn't all that.

got stoned and played with some lego i found while looking for the receipt that had my bikes' serial number on it.

added torture: i thought the liquor store closed at 10 but at 5 to 11 i found out it closes at 11. too late to get there in time. but aside from that, i don't want to drink at home alone. i want to go out!!

kid didn't take a nap so he went to sleep an hour early. at 8:15 this somehow just makes me MORE tired. I have so much contract work to do I can't even start. bleached everything in the bathroom. maybe i'll play guitar for a while. wife is falling asleep in bed watching tv.

watching the red sox, now in the 11th inning. have a sleeping baby on top of me. when the sox do something good i have to cheer very quietly.

I bailed on hanging out with people (sorry tza!) because I was "too tired" to hang out after not sleeping last night and then spending all day with my mom in manhattan. I watched Death Proof :) and now I am still not sleepy and plan on watching Indy 4.

did a lot of chilling out yesterday; we also watched the rock hudson/doris day romp lover come back and ate a meatball sub. we rented a few dvds from cinefile including the above, the first 2 episodes of deadwood, and bootlegs of decline of western civilization III and some sick early '70s miles davis concert footage.

Fuck my fucking social anxieties. How the hell do I manage to go to the club with about ten friends and still act all lonely sadsack wallflower and just straight up 35 outta there because I just spent half an hour staring out the window even though the music was great and there were lots of goodlooking women? Oh and fuck that club's ridiculous cover charge too.

i just came back from an ok night of bar hopping. drunken tacos make me feel alright.

I might have bounced upon learning of the high cover if it weren't for the fact that this was a real good dude's moving away party and I might not see him in the future.

And five bucks for ass-end beer, too. Not going back there ever.

haha reverend i don't think i've ever been out with ten actual friends at the same time(always found rolling deep kinda embarrasing myself), sounds like a tough night all the same even with the reasonable beer prices lol midwest. we went strolling downtown with the baby, shared a pizza and got a starbucks coupon deniiied (free coffee/cappuccino/latte in any barnes and nobles starbucks cafe -- oh no this is merely a starbucks attached to a barnes and noble to the extent that they share a completely open portalway with a theft detector in the middle. spread the word my pretties this shit ain't over!). the girl gave us a free coffee anyway, guess the stupid ass look on my face made her night.

sat at home, ate nice dinner cooked by housemate & housemate's boyfriend, did dishes from dinner, applied for a job. but another housemate was around, writing his grad school application, and we put on music and distracted each other, so at least my boring night wasn't a lonely night.

made and et dinner of roasted vegetables pasta w/tomato sauce. couple glasses nice spanish wine (tempranillo). watched dvd, "the yards" good but very downbeat. watched SNL for three minutes to catch amerika's favorite hockey mom -- meh. as boring saturday nites go, not too bad.

I've had pink eye since Friday night (no crustiness this morning, I guess the antibiotics have done their job for the most part), so I ate to go BBQ and watched the Red Sox then started on the Mad Men DVD set I bought.

ate a bowl of cereal, watched SNL, read the first act of Waiting for Godot, fell asleep

napped, made an attempt to meet a lady at some zombie-themed thing (...), realized that i had misplaced my bike lock the night before, had to go home, drank a beer, went to bed

Drank 2/3 bottle of wine, smoked a little weed, watched half of SNL and about five episodes of 30 Rock.

I sat with a friend at the downtown park and listened to some vulgar hamfisted fundie sermonizing for wayyy to long, then I went by this pizza shop that gives away free pizza when they close and ate it and went to bed.

Staying in bed coz it's raining and I should be down at NOTLS watching teh Early Years do a synth-duo set but I can't be bothered, so I'm eating soup and drinking Blandford Fly in bed and, erm, probably going to spend the rest of the night drawing pointy-nosed gingers. Again.

I need to get one life.
