Good ones!
I just happened to be looking up a film from somewhere upthread called One More Time (directed by Jerry Lewis), and came across this doozy in the plot synopsis:
London nightclub buddies Salt (Sammy Davis Jr.) and Pepper (Peter Lawford) link Pepper’s dead twin to diamond smugglers.

Having seen half of One More Time one afternoon on THIS TV, I can assure you almost any o_O thing you're thinking about it is true.

Midnight Madness (1980) - don't think this one has been posted yet!
I've just started checking out 80s All Over which is sort of a podcast equivalent to Every 70s Movie, going in chronological order - may turn up a few others in this vein...
― mega pegasus for reindeer (Doctor Casino), Saturday, 7 January 2017 17:48 (nine years ago)
Actually now that I see it embedded into the ILX format I think it has been posted before, probably very early in the thread - oops.

That was an HBO staple when I was a kid, I still get the theme song randomly stuck in my head sometimes

I'm binging on this podcast right now. Thanks for the tip!

It's pretty decent! Certain tics bug me, and of course it'd be better if they'd both watched the movies really recently (though that'd be a tall order) but it does seem like they do their homework, and I like the discussions of things like how the studios must have been letting their TV divisions crank out some of the lesser movies, explaining the lifeless direction and dead lighting of the kind of films that mostly populate this thread. Would be nice if they'd bring in some guests or something over time, but I say that in part because I'm just about at my limit of "two to three dudes talk about movies" podcasts.
― mega pegasus for reindeer (Doctor Casino), Sunday, 8 January 2017 18:19 (nine years ago)
Yeah, they strike a decent balance between nostalgic reflection and analytical historicization, which I appreciate and--as someone who is a good 8-10 years younger than they are, but nevertheless was at least familiar with the existence of a lot of this stuff via VHS or cable--can relate to. They did seem to be tearing through some of the titles a bit too quickly at first, though; like, I doubt that the spectacular WTFness (based on the trailer) that is Die Laughing will ever receive any other forum in 2017 than this podcast, but they brush it off in about a minute. I'm all about them spending five mins on The Fog, but its not like that film hasn't been endlessly discussed in the whole podcast/80s nostalgia era.

I loved Super Fuzz to death as a kid, though the VHS we had of it was called Super Snooper. I can recall the theme tune in absolute clarity.
