when im offline for a while then come back to twitter im always like wtf is this horrific shit, but then an hour im back in the groove baby!

noo matt bruenig was given the choice to either stop constantly calling people names on twitter or be fired and he chose to be fired because being a rageball online was too dear to his heart lol

yeah the bruenig thing was a seriously wtffff moment and went off the rails hardcore when every twitter buddy (or person who wanted to be his buddy) started hammering his perceived foes about how he, a real person with a job, was now without a job and they should die in a fire for not letting this man rage at others

the best part was he was only writing part time while holding an actual well paying lawyer job

can't remember, is gamergate lawyer a real lawyer now? he was married to a real lawyer, but I was thinking he got divorced and remarried or something

tbf, I felt kind of the same way about the whole Salaita affair, like maybe he ultimately got canned because pro-Israel types were out to get him, but it's still probably a good idea for a professor to comport himself with some dignity on public social media and his tweets were bilious.

Salaita had quit his other job and moved to take his tenure track position when they just decided to pull the offer as if they had no idea he was fond of free palestine wildin' on social media; no warning, and no job, and this is a major university system that did it

Bruenig had a day job (that he has kept) and the writing gig was part time - they definitely took a hit financially, but he was warned

i went to 12 years of catholic school, 4 of them at a jesuit high school, i know a lot of these people, at one point i identified as one, they are okay imo
