great. it took me so long to arrive at that. i circled around the globe mentally like a dog looking for a spot to settle down in. the lack of highways pointed me away from US cities, but then it was the shape of the dark green hills in the background combined with the relatively low-profile sprawl -- vaguely recollected from time I spent there in the murderous eighties -- that zeroed me in.
