there is a Debbie & Carrie as contemporary neighbors documentary around which I'm sure will be fast-tracked for release now.

It's about that time of year when I post Doris Day to this thread. It's tradition.

Kind of surprised that Richard Adams only just went, so up to yesterday or whatever.

Stevolende, Wednesday, 28 December 2016 15:15 (nine years ago)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Daily aka Roger from I dream of Jeannie and Barbara Eden who played Jeannie of course.

I had assumed until this year they were long gone.

Cosmic Slop, Wednesday, 28 December 2016 15:38 (nine years ago)

Speaking of Carrie, I was looking up some stuff on Shampoo yesterday, and she's the first of Beatty's conquests in the film to go--Lee Grant, who played her mother, turned 91 this year on Halloween.

well Debbie Reynolds was just rushed to a hospital with a possible stroke so 2016 can continue to get fucked.

Roz, Thursday, 29 December 2016 01:49 (nine years ago)

These celebrity deaths are getting absurd.

Treeship, Thursday, 29 December 2016 02:12 (nine years ago)

I feel like an insane person. Everyone says "this happens every year."

Treeship, Thursday, 29 December 2016 02:16 (nine years ago)

well what an unfortunate event to end the celebrity year, goddamn

Supercreditor (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 29 December 2016 02:19 (nine years ago)

I just don't agree that it happens every year, it's absolutely a lot more.

I went a bit mad in 2014 and made a collage of everyone from the Wikipedia deaths page for that year (this took a long time and nobody was interested, think it might be my biggest waste of time ever, I'm even ashamed to be thinking about it now) but it was actually a slow year for celebrity deaths. If I had waited two years this may have been a worthwhile project... nah, who am I fooling

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 4 January 2017 01:35 (nine years ago)

loudmouth darraghmac ween (darraghmac), Wednesday, 4 January 2017 01:38 (nine years ago)

that was it, definitely

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 4 January 2017 02:00 (nine years ago)

Valerie Harper was diagnosed with terminal cancer some time ago but has then gone on to live for longer than people expected I think, kind of like Clive James

soref, Wednesday, 4 January 2017 02:06 (nine years ago)

half of the cast of the Mary Tyler Moore show are candidates for this thread tbh, until a few minutes ago I hadn't realised that Ed Asner, Gavin MacLeod and Cloris Leachman are all still alive

it me, Monday, 9 January 2017 22:27 (nine years ago)

Damn, Herman Wouk. They've shown a few What's My Line? eps on Buzzr that he's on--in the first one, it's mentioned he used to write for Fred Allen's radio show in the early '40s.

"I must believe that my charm was not in my ass." (C. Grisso/McCain), Monday, 9 January 2017 22:54 (nine years ago)

Wouk has kept a personal diary since 1937.[21] On September 10, 2008 Wouk formally presented the Library of Congress with his journals, which number more than 100 volumes as of 2012

I've mentioned this before but even crazier is that the two head coaches from Super Bowl VII (1974) are still alive: Bud Grant and Don Shula, 89 and 87 respectively
