iPhone apps S/D

... up to 3630 already, and (i hope) still counting.

SM is a fucking resource hog. In idle--i.e. when no iPhone is connected to my library--it is choking down 18 threads at a time and adversely affecting my system.

i just know i'm never going to use this. but still. nice idea.

also, I think my problem is that most of my tracks on iTunes are in Apple Lossless, as opposed to crappy 128 MP3s. Those are big files to push, which is why my buffering times are insane.

i dropped them a line anyway and mentioned the problems i'd had; i also asked about scrobbling support. apparently that'll come in a later update of the iPhone app, which would make this totally fuckin' awesome.

First song was Duran Duran 'The Reflex' so money well spent x 2163412847.

WhitePages now has a FREE iPhone app, it has people search as well as reverse phone, business search, save to iPhone Contacts, maps/directions, etc...

2 Across is a really good crossword puzzle app where you can download puzzles past and present from the WSJ, the NYT (with subscription), the Onion, thinks.com and several other places.

The one thing not explained properly is how to enter a word. If you tap twice really fast, that brings out the typewriter. You can also also customize what is revealed, checked, and what isn't at your own leisure. There. Have fun.

Mackro, this was built by someone I know! She has seemed very excited lately about it getting featured and downloaded.

That's "someone I know" not as in "someone who works as a programmer," but rather "a very smart person who evidently just decided to sit down and make a crossword app because she wanted one"

I pretty much just checked the thread to see if you were talking about that app, so I have no idea how the calling-people joke or non-joke functions

It's a joke, and reading above, it sounds really catty, which wasn't my intention at all. The "joke" was that the new White Pages app mentioned right above would be able to reverse search phone numbers based on ILX user names. I used jaymc as an example in an attempt to keep the joke running, but it didn't pan out. So I'll just kill the joke here.

Been using it solidly for the past couple of weeks.

I have no problems with it that make it unuseable.

A crash during the 2.02 firmware upgrade last night caused me to lose all my apps. :( But I was able to get most of them back, so hooray. Plus, 2.02 really did improve my 3G connectivity, so double hooray!

I wanted the remember-where-you-are thingy, and I liked it enough that I want to pay the dude for it. All the reviews of other apps going "Ya totly awesum app but SHLD BE FREE one star" piss me off, but saying that, £6 is steep

New version of Frotz will extract .dat files from .zip files.

It keeps your place in a long document, which is v. handy

How does it integrate with things that use documents?

I'd check the app before asking but I don't know what it's called.
