the gag with jack opening the door to see pete and the writers standing around the table: "what if the pranksmen had fedoras"=amazing
― Mr. Que, Friday, 24 April 2009 18:43 (seventeen years ago)

― she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Friday, 24 April 2009 18:57 (seventeen years ago)
kk: I dunno, considering every episode has silly pointless throwaway gags to fill the time between the super perfect actual jokes, I don't care that they are a bit generic anymore and just embrace them.
― a hoy hoy, Friday, 24 April 2009 19:26 (seventeen years ago)
yeah, that Pranksmen setup was brilliant
― Nhex, Friday, 24 April 2009 19:29 (seventeen years ago)

― cutty, Saturday, 25 April 2009 00:19 (seventeen years ago)
thanks for reminding me about it. i couldn't stop laughing at the absurdity of it.
I loved the dorky modeling pose Liz did to remind Elise how unattractive she was

Yeah, I don't watch Battlestar or Mad Men, so both those flew right over my head.

dont understand anyone thinking this episode was average, there were so many jokes!!
― just sayin, Saturday, 25 April 2009 10:15 (seventeen years ago)
every episode has silly pointless throwaway gags to fill the time between the super perfect actual jokes
Yeah, if it was 30 straight minutes of super perfect actual jokes, people watching might actually DIE. Basically, generic throwaway gags are the mechanism they use to preserve the audience and allow them to breathe.
― DiSTORTOTRON (Johnny Fever), Saturday, 25 April 2009 10:30 (seventeen years ago)
LOL LOVE THIS SHOW JK
― syphilatti (usic), Saturday, 25 April 2009 10:32 (seventeen years ago)
Also any joke at Lutz' expense is always worthwhile.
Shut up Lutz!

― 100,000 strawberries (a hoy hoy), Monday, 27 April 2009 09:15 (seventeen years ago)
I thought a few scenes were flat, but it was great the way the episode balanced a greater-than-usual number of little plots (Jack + Elisa's engagement drama, Jenna's 'true love' and Pete, Tracy's tattoo, the pranksmen) and took advantage of the whole ensemble.

I heard that the origin of the slanket thing is that Tina Fey loves them, uses them, and often gives them as gifts.

― Trust (a hoy hoy), Friday, 1 May 2009 08:26 (seventeen years ago)
I love how, even though 30 Rock is morphing into a more trad-style sitcom, it's still about 100x funnier than anything on television.

― pitch tips (k3vin k.), Friday, 1 May 2009 14:28 (seventeen years ago)
does liz say 'don't jump' when they jump cut between tracy walking down the stairs slowly and he appears at the bottom? because that's brilliant.
― Batsman (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Friday, 1 May 2009 14:29 (seventeen years ago)
yeah im not sure if she said that or not but i recall her saying something like "we're never going to get anything done if you walk that slow" --> jump cut which i thought was awesome. if she actually said that, it's ever better...gotta rewatch
― pitch tips (k3vin k.), Friday, 1 May 2009 14:31 (seventeen years ago)
frank shifting to fart and the gust of wind in liz's face when lutz farts = classy fart humor
― Batsman (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Friday, 1 May 2009 14:38 (seventeen years ago)
That gust of wind made me lose it.
Unfortunately, this episode seemed pretty weak otherwise and I've really been enjoying it lately. The fact that I was working while watching this may be partially to blame for my lack of LOLs.
― Moodles, Friday, 1 May 2009 14:49 (seventeen years ago)
