Which episode is that? I only drop in on these occasionally now. I listened to the most recent one, but was out of the room for part of it.
Yesterday I started working on a version of Temple of the Dog's Hunger Strike with the opening lyrics Robert Craft's my main mazain/And my co-potato head. Not sure if I plan to keep going with that, but I figured I'd share since it's somewhat UYD-relevant.

a couple mentions of UYD on Maron's interview with John Sr. He pointed out that Seth and Jah don't really socialize outside of the podcast.

Have they mentioned Trump at all? The few episodes I've listened to leading up to & since the election they haven't mentioned it. I can understand wanting to stay apolitical (kind of) but given their whole deal is commenting on the absurdity of modern American life it seems like a big thing to avoid
― badg, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 16:29 (seven years ago) link
i'm like 15 episodes behind ): so idk but i could imagine an epic seth rant
― just another (diamonddave85), Wednesday, 1 February 2017 16:33 (seven years ago) link
They kind of talk about it without mentioning Trump specifically in the guns episode (555, I think). I haven't listened to any more recent episodes, this 2 episode per week schedule is too much for me.
― silverfish, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 16:33 (seven years ago) link
i'm about 20 behind. the chang & ang fucking situation story from (i think) 535 was all-time
― sciatica, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 17:00 (seven years ago) link
they have always steered pretty clear of politics. I remember a couple of Romney disses in 2012 but not much besides.
― duped and used by my worst Miss U (President Keyes), Wednesday, 1 February 2017 19:03 (seven years ago) link
think it's part of a general mission to avoid talking about the same shit everyone else is talking about.
― sciatica, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 19:27 (seven years ago) link
that & avoiding current events almost entirely gives the archives a bit of a timeless quality imo
