I once watched a standup dvd with some schoolfriends of mine, and the standupper is raging about his shitty old german teacher called Leila 'The Whore' Bacher, and my friend says '... that's my aunt...'

Frederik B, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 20:48 (nine years ago)

heartening to see that the themes of comedy are so universal

My partner has MS and has serious mobility issues at times, sometimes people think she is drunk or on drugs by the way she walks and she is a tea-total lifer. You can never underestimate how much humour can help people navigate through bad times like this. I regularly go to lots of events where the majority of people are either on the autism spectrum or physically disabled. I couldn't face these people if I felt like a hypocritical arsehole who lolled at disablism on message boards. But I really don't feel like Alfred's post is in that category at all.

I don't mean this as pass/agg rebuke to LJ, because I have gone through periods where I might have reacted the same.

anyways I'll stfu now

calzino, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 20:55 (nine years ago)

that's fair enough

imago, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 21:06 (nine years ago)

sorry everyone, i was more annoyed by the childish non-humour of it than any problematic thorn but excelsior is probably best left unexamined in any sense. i can't help myself when you're all 'lol banging! wheelchair! haw' tho

imago, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 21:09 (nine years ago)

I would've gone with a "Warm Springs" pun myself.

Trump is like Clooney in Burn After Reading, with a top secret basement project that turns out to be an insane dildo bike. "How will I fight terrorism? Oh, just you wait, I have a plan. I have a plan so good you won't believe!" And it turns out to be a dildo bike.

no problem -

in a nutshell, my new line of pills will make your stick shift to new gears that require more flexible underwear to contain your baloney pony. order now and get a free pair of underwear from the gently used pile at no extra cost! now if you wouldn't mind pressing the lobby button for me, my mayo shooting hotdog gun has created a sticky situation for my hands. i'd shake your hand but my purple-headed yogurt flinging schlong dongadoodlin' steamin' semen *door closes*
