deleted my account last year (?) and haven't missed it at all. i do have an account sitting there, and i'm following maybe six friends and some ~brands~, but nothing compels me to open it any more unless i want to search for something that's happening (tram crash, smoke erupting from the next block etc), but even then it's just a wall of guesswork/hot takes from randoms and unrelated spam ("The Top 10 iPhone 7 Problems shittyurl.com/kwjbsf #iphone #pneumoniagate #kanye #paralympics #tramcrash #obama")

I started by following a bunch of liberal-to-left media people/bloggers etc. and so far my feed is kind of depressing, it's just this frenzy of people shitting themselves about trump's fallon appearance, trump's hotel thing, trump's hair, how the media should stop giving trump so much coverage, etc. I feel like there's a lot of denial going on about what the media is/are and about how good Trump is for it, even as its members express how upset they are over the phenomenon they are part of.

I still have all my election filters in place so I miss anything actually using the candidate names etc

we need better image recognition filters imo
