i keep making slow progress in learning the ways of cinema4d. at one point i knew how to define a path for a camera to follow while focusing on a particular target, and then i completely forgot how to do everything and had to start from square one again. i think i got the hang of it again though, and i finally learned how to add looping videos that sync up with everything else:

for various reasons i've always had a very inconsistent approach with posting my images on those platforms - i feel shy about subjecting other people to my work, knowing that many of them are family/co-workers/acquaintances etc that don't know anything about my secret gif life, and that many of them just are not going to be into it at all. so it's always been a bit agonizing to post a new gif in those places, Facebook especially, knowing that's not what they "friended" me for. (i don't feel the same way about this thread, incidentally, because at least once you've clicked it a few times you know what you're getting to and it's easy to avoid afterward).

i'm hoping that people will be interested in checking out the instagram account, though, because i'll be posting much higher quality versions of my images there. where gifs have to be 256 colors or less, and usually 2MB or less in order to post on tumblr and other places, on instagram i'll be posting high resolution video versions of the same images, sometimes with many more frames included per loop. as an example, here's a new gif for today:

ideally they'd all start up at the same time, in sync, and then gradually phase with each other only to realign...a long time in the future. unfortunately browsers don't load a set of 9 gifs simultaneously, so they won't start out in sync in the first place. it's odd though, sometimes browsers will load up a set of 2 or 3, or even 4 or 5 gifs and start them at the same exact moment, while loading up the remaining gifs and starting them a bit later. also, sometimes if you load up all 9 of the images (so they're in your cache) and then hit refresh, then the refreshed page will start them all up at the same instant. pretty cool

So let me get this straight - every 16 minutes someone dies of suicide and every 17 minutes someone is left to make sense of it.

That means

every 32 minutes two people have died of suicide and every 34 minutes, there are two people left to make sense of it
every 48 minutes three people have died of suicide and every 51 minutes, there are three people left to make sense of it
every 64 minutes four people have died of suicide and every 68 minutes, there are four people left to make sense of it
every 80 minutes five people have died of suicide and every 85 minutes, there are five people left to make sense of it
every 96 minutes six people have died of suicide and every 102 minutes, there are six people left to make sense of it
every 112 minutes seven people have died of suicide and every 119 minutes, there seven two people left to make sense of it
every 128 minutes eight people have died of suicide and every 136 minutes, there are eight people left to make sense of it
