tbf orig Tartine bakery has good food -- but I rarely went there when I lived in SF due to the line, and general this-is-exactly-the-kind-of-white-person-I-don't-want-to-be-ness about it. This new place looks like it's aiming to be much, much worse.

Dominique, Thursday, 18 August 2016 16:41 (nine years ago)

I have never eaten at Tartine for those reasons and don't foresee this ever changing

Οὖτις, Thursday, 18 August 2016 16:47 (nine years ago)

Hi white person here. (I have snagged a couple of things to go from Tartine when I passed by and saw the line was short, ie, only inside the building. Tasty, yes, but I don't go out of my way.)

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 18 August 2016 16:48 (nine years ago)

TBF, Tartine makes the best bread in the whole world, and some pretty goddamn great pastries too.

schwantz, Thursday, 18 August 2016 17:12 (nine years ago)

I have no issue with the Tartine product but agree that this building looks *rolls-eyes*. But I sorta feel that way about the Mill/Four Barrell and I still get coffee stuff there too so maybe I am *rolls-eyes*.

One bad call from barely losing to (Alex in SF), Thursday, 18 August 2016 17:24 (nine years ago)

tartine is fine but i hate the vibe/scene of it. i do fux w/ 'B'Patisserie however

@dick_nixon
Have you been to San Francisco? My God, the Japanese are gone, the Mexicans, even the gays. It's all guys with Ferraris who get girls drunk.

Foot traffic or conditions?

ein Sexmonster (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Wednesday, 11 January 2017 03:09 (nine years ago)

Well, parking and it's always more pleasant with less foot traffic. If you go during the week it's probably even better.
