yah.. people are saying the no flyers thing is an "aesthetic choice" which is so dumb imo idk.

Wandered into the store the other week to say hi to a couple of folks and yeah...it's, um, stark in there now.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 August 2016 18:27 (nine years ago)

guna go ahead and say that if you're not letting kids put flyers for their shows in your record store, youre actively anti-punk no matter how many crime records you reissue.

kurt schwitterz, Friday, 12 August 2016 18:44 (nine years ago)

the best comment was someone posting a pic of an old school flyer for a suicide gig and saying that it wouldn't be allowed in the store

sarahell, Friday, 12 August 2016 18:51 (nine years ago)

they haven't even put their signs up yet sheesh guys

I like First Church although shows tend to run a little too late for my old SF living self.

One bad call from barely losing to (Alex in SF), Friday, 12 August 2016 19:40 (nine years ago)

Stranded in SF is going to fight an uphill battle for a bit simply due to replacing Aquarius. I don't remember any of this kind of talk about the Oakland store when I was there.

Dominique, Friday, 12 August 2016 19:46 (nine years ago)

Completely separately, I rather think you all should read this.

tbf orig Tartine bakery has good food -- but I rarely went there when I lived in SF due to the line, and general this-is-exactly-the-kind-of-white-person-I-don't-want-to-be-ness about it. This new place looks like it's aiming to be much, much worse.

Dominique, Thursday, 18 August 2016 16:41 (nine years ago)

I have never eaten at Tartine for those reasons and don't foresee this ever changing

Οὖτις, Thursday, 18 August 2016 16:47 (nine years ago)

Hi white person here. (I have snagged a couple of things to go from Tartine when I passed by and saw the line was short, ie, only inside the building. Tasty, yes, but I don't go out of my way.)

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 18 August 2016 16:48 (nine years ago)

TBF, Tartine makes the best bread in the whole world, and some pretty goddamn great pastries too.

schwantz, Thursday, 18 August 2016 17:12 (nine years ago)

I have no issue with the Tartine product but agree that this building looks *rolls-eyes*. But I sorta feel that way about the Mill/Four Barrell and I still get coffee stuff there too so maybe I am *rolls-eyes*.

One bad call from barely losing to (Alex in SF), Thursday, 18 August 2016 17:24 (nine years ago)

tartine is fine but i hate the vibe/scene of it. i do fux w/ 'B'Patisserie however

Bandol soleil for the St. Tropez tan (outdoor_miner), Thursday, 18 August 2016 17:34 (nine years ago)

@dick_nixon
Have you been to San Francisco? My God, the Japanese are gone, the Mexicans, even the gays. It's all guys with Ferraris who get girls drunk.
