Union Square is horrible why would you want to go there? it is never "dead"

H&M has nice coats also its the only bart station i can access from the 38 easily.

that was my impression before I'd been there, but when I walked through it, it was more attractive than expected, and seemed a decent place to stop briefly and people-watch

? when was that? I don't remember there ever being a park there, I've lived here for 11 years.

yeah union sq is nothing spesh unless they changed it drastically from last time i was there

I assume s/he means the area that they filmed the opening of The Conversation which could loosely be called a park and which has changed a bit since they filmed that.

yeah, i mean it wasn't like grassy napping destination, but, they made all the "let's discourage homeless people from loitering here" changes that just made it depressing

There used to be a lot more grass until they 'renovated' it starting in '98 until that was finished in '02. It's a whole lot uglier now than it used to be.

i ate at Dosa this weekend. It was pretty good although overpriced for what it was.

we're going there on Saturday (couldn't get a reservation at Delfina, bah!) I like Dosa a lot, one of only a few places in SF where you can get South Indian cooking.

I have never thought that about Dosa. I think it's pretty comparable with most good Indian fare in the city.

no the yellow one on divizz. jay's is good too but i prefer the vegie cheesesteaks there! the other one is real dead meaty good.

I usually eat at dirt cheap indian restaurants in berkeley so that was my point of comparison for price. they are good but not "nice", particularly.

anyway, yeah, recommended.

Ocean Taqueria a couple shops down from the cheesesteak shop is decent but not balls out amazing.

Do you eat at Eric's (or is it Eliza's?), chaki? I've never been to the one there, but the one in Noe Valley (or Potrero) is really good.

Apparently there is some sordid story about the Eliza-Eric split, but the waiter at Eliza's would only tell us that Eric's RIPPED THEM OFF, AND THEY WERE FIRST SO DON'T EAT THERE, OKAY!

Trying to remember what else is in the area. Have you been to Blue Jay Cafe? It's pretty decent (esp. for breakfast), but I haven't been since I moved out of that neighborhood. Waziema was my favorite restaurant when I lived off Divis, but that's also a ways from where you live.

nah blue jay and waiziema are both easy walks! i havent been to either though! i pass by blue jay when i go to Eddie's for breakfast which is CHEAP and good. how is the bar at waiziema?
