Yeah, I saw you too. And then I saw Onimo later that very same evening. I'm just being snarky because I'm wanting an excuse to go to the pub.

By the way, it just occurred to me that none of you lot probably read the ILX parenting thread, so let me throw in *another* excuse for fappage, that being Onimo's impending daddyhood.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 16 February 2006 23:31 (twenty years ago)

He already is a daddy, silly. /pedantry

(Woo Onimo!)

I keep forgetting to phone Jo and Ian.

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 17 February 2006 09:56 (twenty years ago)

Has anyone seen the new easyjet routes from Glasgow. I did a search for flights to Berlin in the middle of August and got a fare of £36 inc taxes, bargain.

leigh (leigh), Friday, 17 February 2006 10:18 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, my parents got mad stupid cheap flights to come home and visit from Malaga. I did point out it would have been much better had they bought mad stupid cheap flights for us to go and visit them, but, no, they had to do it their way.

Madchen, have you remembered to phone them yet? I mean, obviously you have remembered about phoning them, but have you put this into practice?

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 17 February 2006 17:54 (twenty years ago)

Madchen, you have mail (gmail).

It's Dahlin's birthday soon. PUB! PUB! PUB! PUB!

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 22 February 2006 00:27 (twenty years ago)

No, I am still forgetting. Please keep reminding me. Darn, I wish they had email (or if they do now, I wish I knew the address).

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 22 February 2006 05:09 (twenty years ago)

"Today I was driving home from work just between the Western and the Kelvin Hall when who should run across the road in front of my car but Stew. I waved, but he didn't see me."

Hi dere!

Hey everybody - come to Chris Brokaw at Mono tonight. He's great, support act Skeleton Bob are great, and my group Older & Faraway, who maybe aren't so great, are making our live debut. It's me playing geetar with Mogwai's cellist. More Americana than post-rock though.
I'm spinning some tunes too. Fiver on the door. Bargain!

stew!, Wednesday, 22 February 2006 09:25 (twenty years ago)

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 23 February 2006 18:19 (twenty years ago)

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 23 February 2006 18:19 (twenty years ago)

Madchen, I have Jo's email, shall I take responsibility whilst you are sunning yourself in the name of work? And arrange something for when you come back?

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 23 February 2006 18:51 (twenty years ago)

Ah, Cozen you cad! You missed me mucking up a chord change and playing a mighty Neil Young esque solo during the last song.
Chris Brokaw was fantastic. Even better in Edinburgh last night.

stew!, Friday, 24 February 2006 13:12 (twenty years ago)

cobalt on sauchiehall st has cunningly lost the lt and turned the b into a d, I noticed, today -- the australian/new zealandish one w/ the funny hair that cut mine ages ago was locking up

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 19:53 (twenty years ago)

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 2 March 2006 00:47 (twenty years ago)

Are people going to Belle and Sebastian at Triptych?

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 2 March 2006 00:50 (twenty years ago)

I'd rather go to jackson in edinburgh

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 2 March 2006 00:54 (twenty years ago)

Jackson is in Mississippi (this is what I learned from the pub quiz tonight).

I want to go to see the Fire Engines in Edinburgh since I missed them at Optimo.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 2 March 2006 00:56 (twenty years ago)

I am going to Optimo on Sunday. That's probably as far as I'll stretch right now.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 2 March 2006 01:12 (twenty years ago)

scotstvo (scotstvo), Thursday, 2 March 2006 10:37 (twenty years ago)

pub quizzes are a source of knowledge that should not be overlooked by CI / BI guys. I once learnt that New Model Army´s boots were made in Northhampton.

olenska (olenska), Thursday, 2 March 2006 10:53 (twenty years ago)

Presumably Cromwell's NMA and not the popular Bradford beat combo, because their clogs were made in Northallerton.

Lovely poster. But we are not going to Glasgow anymore, just London.boohoo

Hello Glasgow, much as I'd love to come and see you all, I'm not. But I did find this headline while web browsing for work and I wanted to put it somewhere.

Alba demands Playboy pull March magazine

Why?

Resume your usual antics.

Anna (Anna), Friday, 3 March 2006 11:48 (twenty years ago)

I would also like to see that film. I wonder if I can get back from Parkhead on time (I'm sure I can). I might see some of you there!

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 3 March 2006 18:51 (twenty years ago)

The chambermaid asked Harvey Keitel 'What does a wee man like you want with a big double bed?'

Good old Glasgow.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 3 March 2006 19:46 (twenty years ago)

jackson & his computer band?

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 4 March 2006 00:08 (twenty years ago)

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 4 March 2006 14:59 (twenty years ago)

Ended up walking to the GFT from Celtic Park via the fire down near the the Barras - embdy know what building it was? The smoke drifted all the way in to the stadium mid-way through the first half - I presumed it was folk lighting fires to keep warm.
Film was pretty good - kind of a fore-runner to the Truman Show. A lot of the city centre shots were interesting as it hasn't really changed all that much.

JohnFoxxsJuno (JohnFoxxsJuno), Sunday, 5 March 2006 12:21 (twenty years ago)

You don't see Harvey Keitel so much anymore.

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 5 March 2006 12:21 (twenty years ago)

No idea what the fire was, I smelt in on the way up to the match walking up the Gallowgate, and I could see the smoke hanging over the city centre from my seat in the upper east stand.

I forgot to go and see Death Watch, instead I was forced to see the worst band in the world ever. Cockcheese, I think they were called :-) Godawful pub rock with every song run through the Status Quo filter, and a bizarre version of Under My Thumb which appeared to be the singer singing Under My Thumb as the band played Lust for Life. Redeemed by the twenty-minute soft-rock medley played between their sets. Poison! Extreme! Heart! Chicago! REO Speedwagon! Meatloaf! The Scorpions! Marillion! Also redeemed by about 95 pints of Guinness. And the company. We should have a shit-pub-bands FAP. It was top roffleness.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 5 March 2006 12:38 (twenty years ago)

"forced"

Onimo (GerryNemo), Sunday, 5 March 2006 12:41 (twenty years ago)

Well, it wasn't my idea. Then people kept buying me beer and making me stay. My arm is so sore from all the twisting it was getting, honest guv.

(My head fucking hurts, by the way)

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 5 March 2006 12:42 (twenty years ago)

You arm is sore from all the elbow bending.

I'm surprisingly fresh, I ate half a dodgy curry then passed out but I seem to have had a sleep rather than an alcohol induced coma.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Sunday, 5 March 2006 12:56 (twenty years ago)

This is the dude from the pub. (sadly no picture of the roadie with his jammies on)
