i been wanting to go to the flatbush farm so bad
― Surmounter, Monday, 20 April 2009 13:40 (seventeen years ago)
sycamore is great, but i haven't been in the warm weather--there's a backayrd?
also, the "crown heights beer garden" aka Franklin Park is fine when it's not super crowded; good for sunday or saturday afternoons & week nights. ex-ilxor Bell_Labs lives across the street and the noise/music from the bar is often pretty irritating.
― ian, Monday, 20 April 2009 16:14 (seventeen years ago)
4th ave pub and cherry tree both have backyards. i'm holding out hope for the o'connors "beer garden" to reopen but who knows.

Perhaps it's the picturesque new bar with a cozy backyard to hang out in.
My plans have resurrected themselves and I will be able to report back on Dutch Kills, the new retrofit "cocktail bar" in Queens.

– Business Casual combines the lyrical styles of Kats, Domer, brokeMC and the Metermaids with Domer’s hip–hop remixes of your favorite indie rock bands, including the White Stripes, Spoon, MGMT, the Black Lips and more.
– DJ SmutVillain and his crew, Das Wyld Saloonatiks, weave old school hip–hop into 80’s dance beats and blend pop hits with dusty vinyl gems to create feel good party mixes.

Washington Commons = Good. Great selection of beers on tap, more bottles coming soon according to the bartendress. Backyard is huge, still being put together, but huge. I drank an old speckled hen & some barleywine that was rich but delicious, can't remember the name. Prices are reasonable, happy hours 'til 8 during the week = -$2 off all beers.
― ian, Sunday, 26 April 2009 23:52 (seventeen years ago)
also popped into the new bar "Manhattans" owned by Tracy of s1ber1a fame. Awful place. Bottles only, cigarette smoke, glasses & bottles from the night before still out everywhere, no atmosphere to speak of.
― ian, Sunday, 26 April 2009 23:55 (seventeen years ago)
no sign out front, newspapers pasted in the windows. in the spot formerly occupied by Ripple iirc.
woulda gone to wash. bar with you but we were up in queens

is this place open yet?
Der Schwarze Kölner Manchester, England, native and former Cologne resident Dale Hall, along with his girlfriend, Randi Lockemann, gives Fort Greene its first German beer garden. Eighteen Deutsch brews will be on tap, along with another 20 by the bottle. In keeping with Hall’s Cologne pedigree, three breweries from that city will represent. In addition to the beers, the space—which features communal tables indoors and both sidewalk and garden seating—will serve traditional foods. Cold items like wurst and cheese plates will be coming first, and hot dishes, including schnitzel and even more sausage, a couple months later. 710 Fulton St at South Oxford St, Fort Greene, Brooklyn (no phone yet)
