I had it a couple times, p good but not something I need in my regular repertoire. Had a fancy flavored "espresso soda" at a coffee place too and it was kind of weird, flavors did not combine well with the selzer.

i'm drinking sodexo overpriced cafeteria coffee today. it has its own branding, "aspretto," which sounds like a fake coffee brand developed for training materials

i am at my limit w/ the office keurig and apparently the only truly great keurig coffee my research has turned up (green mountain kenyan aa) was reformulated in the past 6 mos and sucks now :(

i mean i have an aeropress but we have to use the bathroom sink down the other end of the hallway and it's just kind of a pain u kno??

Take cold brew to the office, use hot water from the Keurig to dilute the concentrate?

hell i should just master cold brew tbh, i still haven't really given it a shot

trader joe's cold brew concentrate is a good alternative, and not too expensive

I didn't like the TJ's when I tried it, though I haven't had any other.

I tried making a small batch cold brew and I lost a LOT of water (like I started with 18oz and wound up with less than 12). Is this normal??

At larger volumes I've definitely had close to a third of the water retained in the grounds after brewing and filtering.

DD cold brew (they have this now) + almond milk = idk about your fancy coffee this is SoBro we go hard

Also it comes in a plastic cup the size of my head so that's convenient.

I kinda pressed them down in the strainer but not much came out.

I also did a second filter thru my Kalita Wave to get the sediment out and 45 min later it still wasn't done.

Here's an expert (award winning New Orleans barrista, 15 yrs) on how to properly cold brew.

His terminology is a bit confusing - he calls it a slow drip, but that's immersion cold brew. Really no different from French Press or mason jar immersion then poured through a filter. I had a Toddy and thought it was more of a pain in the ass than mason jar + filter method.

Slow drip is a different beast, like my little Iwaki or the big Yama drippers where the water drips onto the water one at a time.

I tried a hot bloom with the Iwaki yesterday and it was fantastic - 40g coffee (found out the hard way that 50g is too much w/ a bloom), 40g of 205F water and a stir, 400g room temp water. Poured over ice and then cut 1/3 to 1/2 with cold water was refreshing as hell.

it's basically just the instructions that come with a toddy container lol.
