Guess what? Class is over FOREVAH! Good bye, second year of law school! See you suckers LATER!

That's got to be a good feeling. Congrats and all that. How will you celebrate?

Man Man (kenan), Friday, 28 April 2006 15:37 (twenty years ago)

They wouldn't fire me for that. Not with the handful of people who do things like call in at 7 PM saying, "I just woke up and I thought it was 7 AM, please don't fire me." That was from a guy who has worked there for 15 years. (He really needs to re-evaluate his relationship w/ alcohol. He's the guy who gets loaded at/after work and then rides his bike 8 miles home, one time getting hit by a car, knocking him unconscious.)

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Friday, 28 April 2006 15:38 (twenty years ago)

It's such a good feeling to know you're alive.
It's such a happy feeling: You're growing inside.
And when you wake up ready to say,
"I think I'll make a snappy new day."
It's such a good feeling, a very good feeling,
The feeling you know that we're friends.

heh. That's a good one.

I had a friend when I was in college who used crazy excuses like that all the time. My favorite was the time he had is roommate call him in dead.

jonviachicago (jonviachicago), Friday, 28 April 2006 15:44 (twenty years ago)

That was no made-up excuse. It was the sad truth. He really should have made up something better.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Friday, 28 April 2006 15:49 (twenty years ago)

Hey Chicago-- someone once posted a link to a free prog that easily converted .m4 files to .mp3 Can we do that again?

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Friday, 28 April 2006 16:16 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe I found it on my own

Me neither.

My wallet shopping was a bust, btw. And I couldn't find a watch, either. Why is it so fucking hard to make a watch with NUMBERS on it??? Huh?

So what do you think of a guy buying his boyfriend flowers? I mean me buying a guy flowers. I really like giving and getting flowers, but is that too fruity for some guys?

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Friday, 28 April 2006 16:56 (twenty years ago)

i'm gonna say that flowers, while cliched and somewhat cheesey, are definite panty-remover.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 28 April 2006 16:56 (twenty years ago)

xpost "Lord God King Bufu" will be fine.

Man Man (kenan), Friday, 28 April 2006 16:56 (twenty years ago)

Men like flowers as much as women, in my experience.

Man Man (kenan), Friday, 28 April 2006 16:57 (twenty years ago)

i wouldn't want flowers but i don't know if that's a guy thing or a straight guy thing. maybe some gerber daisies.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 28 April 2006 16:57 (twenty years ago)

Being brought flowers rulez.* It's right up there with a surprise work pick ups (like you come out of work and your SO is there to walk/ride/drive home with you when you didn't expect it) as small romantic gestures that will make me gushy with happiness for weeks.

*I get Jeff flowers, too. I think that dudes getting each other flowers is super awesome. I mean, Jesse, wouldn't you just MELT if a dude brought you flowers?

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 28 April 2006 16:57 (twenty years ago)

i'm gonna say that flowers, while cliched and somewhat cheesey, are definite panty-remover.

Oh, you can remove panties even without flowers. The point is, flowers are really nice to have around, and a really nice thing to give someone. Some things never change.

Man Man (kenan), Friday, 28 April 2006 16:58 (twenty years ago)

I feel like buying flowers for everyone. Jenny, you first.

Man Man (kenan), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:01 (twenty years ago)

The point is, flowers are really nice to have around, and a really nice thing to give someone. Some things never change.

yes, i agree it is a nice gesture. but there is also an undeniable fringe benefit for the giver. i always find out a girls favorite flower when i start dating her, if i think there's a chance it will last she eventually gets them.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:01 (twenty years ago)

bring me dead flowers kenan and i won't forget to put roses on your grave.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:02 (twenty years ago)

I don't think Jeff likes flowers, per se, as much as I like them, but he does like their demonstrative impact (I was thinking about you and I acted on it) as much as I do.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:02 (twenty years ago)

I think now is the time to admit that I have spent almost all of the past two afternoons playing Leisure Suit Larry VI, and probably will again today.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:04 (twenty years ago)

So therefore I think flowers are keen for everyone because they are a way of saying, "I was thinking about you and I like you enough to have purchased a token to demonstrate to you and anyone who walks past your desk that I lurve you."

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:05 (twenty years ago)

fuck hooker

Man Man (kenan), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:06 (twenty years ago)

Sorry, that's the only thing I remember about Leisure Suit Larry.

Man Man (kenan), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:06 (twenty years ago)

there are exactly 2 other people in the office for the rest of the afternoon. why the fuck am i here? nice to blast the oblivians at my desk though.

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:17 (twenty years ago)

You wake up. The room is spinning very gently round your head. Or at least it would be if you could see it which you can't. It is pitch black.

Man Man (kenan), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:19 (twenty years ago)

Nick Fiction, please email me so I can cheer during your WHPK set. That is all.

I like manly flowers, like eucalyptus and winterberries, and womanly flowers, too.

Ladies and germans, I'm back in the credit card game, but this time I'm Doing Things RightTM by getting a ridiculously low credit limit and using it to pay my bills automatically (2-fold benefit: I pay all my bills on time and I build my credit at the same time. and I only have to write one check, so 3-fold).

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:37 (twenty years ago)

Note: Exotic/weird flower bulbs also make excellent gifts for girlfriends, wives, and mothers.

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:38 (twenty years ago)

Ridiculously low=$250!

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Friday, 28 April 2006 17:38 (twenty years ago)

I think it's about not buying expensive electronics from sketchy on-line retailers.

Dell and Geeks.com are not sketchy!

Well, I mean, I know what that is. It's a pope. It came up on a GIS for Georgia O'Keefe.
