something i like, in summer: to drink my coffee outside, + lazily leave my cup there + later when making coffee to be momentarily confused, unable to find it, + to remember + fetch it, + to give it only the most cursory wash, + to use it again

when you pay $4 for a latte or 3.75 or whatev, i want $0.25 of the cost to guarantee that they don't scald the milk

I bought an Iwaki cold drip brewer after trying cold brew from one of the big Kyoto tower brewers. It's interesting and simple - fill the top chamber with water and ice or just water, it drips down onto a bed of grounds, then that drips slowly filling the bottom flask. Not enormously different from usual cold brew but lighter.

I have sweetened iced cof concentrate and vanilla soy milk in the fridge and can drink it all the time now heck yeah

Im looking after a cat this week. Just sayin

man alive that is my go-to portable coffee. Columbia Medium Roast only, the others are shit. It has saved many a morning from terrible hotel room coffee while traveling. Also saved me from terrible workplace coffee (Keurig, natch) when I had a workplace.

I spent years hand-pulling shots made with third-wave microlot blah blah through my La Pavoni, not really possible to do in the morning anymore while getting kids ready for school. While I wouldn't advocate Via colombian over that process, it's better than a lot of brewed coffee.

and yeah, only the medium roast colombian. I've also taken it on the road with me, it's great for that.

Good for iced coffee too because you can just make it with like half the water and pour over ice.

Lately I've been using Kirkland Organic Whole Milk in it too. Man, so rich and so good.

I had it a couple times, p good but not something I need in my regular repertoire. Had a fancy flavored "espresso soda" at a coffee place too and it was kind of weird, flavors did not combine well with the selzer.
