The Ascension of St. Roy

Ludo, Sunday, 26 June 2016 16:52 (seven years ago) link

"Were poor" is a bizarre statement. We are poor. We are very poor but we played well. First half was best we have been in a long long time. We are doing the best we can with extremely limited resources.

Toby!

This is great

The 1/64th Hungarian in me is utterly frustrated atm

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:12 (seven years ago) link

This could be about 7-5 or something

groovypanda, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:26 (seven years ago) link

Belgium wasted so many chances you'd almost expect Hungary to make them bleed. Except they don't.

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:29 (seven years ago) link

Last two posts otm

The Invention of Worrell (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:29 (seven years ago) link

is it me or goalkeepers have been pretty good in this euro? i used to follow football a lot and stopped around 4-5 years ago, only to watch international tournaments of the kind. and right now i'm mostly impressed by goalkeepers.

Van Horn Street, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:33 (seven years ago) link

Not overly confident that Spain Italy will be "an absolute belter of a game"

groovypanda, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:34 (seven years ago) link

Hazard passing to himself is A+

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:34 (seven years ago) link

Damn

groovypanda, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:35 (seven years ago) link

wow

Windsor Davies, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:35 (seven years ago) link

Oh wow, Hazard you magnificent bastard

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:35 (seven years ago) link

Still, can't really see this Belgium side giving Wales too many problems

groovypanda, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:35 (seven years ago) link

Now we've got a tournament.

They could have been Stackridge. (Tom D.), Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:37 (seven years ago) link

xp they nullified Hazard p effectively in the second qualifying game but also needed a large amt of fortune

We got 4 points from the two games I think. They suddenly look a much better side though.

We'll need buckets of luck

groovypanda, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:48 (seven years ago) link

Fellaini's injury time clown limbs serving as a reminder of a potential weak link

Not saying Wales will win from Belgium, but they have a much better organisation than Hungary had tonight tbh

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:56 (seven years ago) link

Had to leave at the 75 minute mark, when the score was one-nil. Wonder what happened after that? Oh wait

The Invention of Worrell (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 26 June 2016 21:32 (seven years ago) link

That Belgium-Hungary game was the best I've seen so far. Belgium deserved it but Hungary played about as well as a team beaten 4-0 could do. Came close to taking it when it was still 1-0.

Eyeball Kicks, Sunday, 26 June 2016 21:53 (seven years ago) link

Went to the pub to watch this last evening game but funnily every post on ilx here was almost identical to stuff we said.

One of the best games so far imo.

yeah, this is just straight up trolling. A team almost totally comprised of Championship players against a team of CL superstars - with 3 days extra rest.

Number None, Monday, 27 June 2016 08:17 (seven years ago) link

and Delaney's a fucking idiot obv, but for Cox to imply that this team had some sort of just here for the craic attitude is massively disrespectful

Number None, Monday, 27 June 2016 08:23 (seven years ago) link

it's prob the highest point for the national team since 2002, and that's based on performances (and some results) in the last year. what's sad is how few players we produce. like even one young, fast technically good forward or attacking midfielder would be a godsend.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Monday, 27 June 2016 08:51 (seven years ago) link

Weve a better younger squad than we have had in a long time

willem, Monday, 27 June 2016 13:57 (seven years ago) link

got 0-0 aet written all over it. hope i'm wrong.

pandemic, Monday, 27 June 2016 15:59 (seven years ago) link

cynic

thank god for this tournament, makes the end of a shitty day a little bit brighter

Windsor Davies, Monday, 27 June 2016 16:04 (seven years ago) link

tipping it down which adds to everything a lil bit i always think. italy looking good.

pandemic, Monday, 27 June 2016 16:06 (seven years ago) link

gooooooal

Inglan is a Bitch (Noodle Vague), Monday, 27 June 2016 16:34 (seven years ago) link

lol, they're well coached apparently

pandemic, Monday, 27 June 2016 16:35 (seven years ago) link

Happy for Chiellini.

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 27 June 2016 16:35 (seven years ago) link

de gea did that thing of not having his feet planted when the free kick was struck, maybe cost him a fraction of a second?

pandemic, Monday, 27 June 2016 16:37 (seven years ago) link

deserved it

how is murphy so annoying after such a short reign? he's like lawro but in a younger man it's even harder to tolerate. he speaks like every word costs him a fiver.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Monday, 27 June 2016 16:37 (seven years ago) link

oh man Luca Vialli <3

Windsor Davies, Monday, 27 June 2016 16:50 (seven years ago) link

the in ball to whichever italian frwd player posts up has been so easy today. just so simple to play it thru/over the spain midfield.

pandemic, Monday, 27 June 2016 17:06 (seven years ago) link

Fabregas screwing over Pelle

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 27 June 2016 17:12 (seven years ago) link

he speaks like every word costs him a fiver.

lol, beautifully stated

he's definitely found his rhythm very quickly

damn that would have been a great goal

ogmor, Monday, 27 June 2016 17:13 (seven years ago) link

Gosh, ref certainly not against Spain this second half

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 27 June 2016 17:16 (seven years ago) link

the refereeing in this tournament is worse than any i can remember. they've lost any and all sense of what a fair tackle is.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Monday, 27 June 2016 17:18 (seven years ago) link

or what a foul is.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Monday, 27 June 2016 17:18 (seven years ago) link

2002 surely the gold standard of wild refereeing

ogmor, Monday, 27 June 2016 17:21 (seven years ago) link

I think it's been surprisingly good overall

(not watching this game though)
