Inglan is a Bitch (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:05 (seven years ago) link

Hah same. Love this start though. These ten minutes have offered more excitement already than all of last nights match.

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:10 (seven years ago) link

Somewhere Darraghmac is screaming "no, too early!" at a TV.

On a Raqqa tip (ShariVari), Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:12 (seven years ago) link

Lol

The Invention of Worrell (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:14 (seven years ago) link

Haha

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:14 (seven years ago) link

Nope, if we can manage to keep to our plan its perfect to havs put france under this pressure to attack.

Long would be a sore loss

Our tackling is p poorly judged. Fouling when the ball was there to win cleanly.

Othereise i cant complain

Missed the goal obv

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:31 (seven years ago) link

I haven't been watching this but I hope that was a dubious penalty, the Le Main of Henry incident still seems like yesterday to me.

calzino, Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:34 (seven years ago) link

Hate to break it but it was a stone cold pen

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:36 (seven years ago) link

Tackling is stupid.

The objective is to get the ball, foul if necessary. These guys dont understand that in the heat of the moment

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:39 (seven years ago) link

Idiocy hendrick. Idiocy

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:41 (seven years ago) link

Pity this is on ITV. Would love if they went back to the studio at half time and Henry was sitting there.

They could have been Stackridge. (Tom D.), Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:44 (seven years ago) link

Ireland v effectively disrupting France so far. Wonder if they can manage this for 90mins as it must be exhausting, but so far so good. France getting frustrated.

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:45 (seven years ago) link

Just when we need hendrick as pivot we have to sub him after that stupid booking

Coleman also incredibly foolish to dive on his booking

Football is good. France bad.

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:47 (seven years ago) link

Only Hendrick's second stupidest booking of the tournament. First was for introducing a second ball to an opposition attack lol

imago, Sunday, 26 June 2016 13:49 (seven years ago) link

mcgrath italy 94 vs thuram croatia 98

r|t|c, Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:00 (seven years ago) link

What a header its almost enough to make you forget neither mccarthy nor hendrick bothered to do their one job there

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:18 (seven years ago) link

Particularly mccarthy. Particularly.

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:18 (seven years ago) link

Griezmann!!!

Van Horn Street, Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:18 (seven years ago) link

McCarthy is the midfield equivalent of the official behind the goals.

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:20 (seven years ago) link

Over.

They could have been Stackridge. (Tom D.), Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:21 (seven years ago) link

Ah well lads. Nobody expected ye to win it. Go with god.

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:21 (seven years ago) link

O'Neill didnt do his job at half time but thats ok too. Glad just to be here.

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:22 (seven years ago) link

(still convinced Ireland will win)

Van Horn Street, Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:24 (seven years ago) link

That was a very very clear foul by Giroud imo

EU don't negotiate with errorists (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:25 (seven years ago) link

smh griez goalline bling. so french

r|t|c, Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:28 (seven years ago) link

Still raging about 2nd French goal. Two centre backs going up for the ball. You wouldnt see it at an under-12 match

Neptune Bingo (Michael B), Sunday, 26 June 2016 14:30 (seven years ago) link

Ref sorry for us now

Equaliser now would be the vet equivalent of keeping the dog alive and in pain for another year

drone shadow is the new dog ad

Michael Cox ‏@Zonal_Marking 28m28 minutes ago

Ireland were poor at this tournament. Technically and physically inadequate, very fortunate to face half-arsed Italy in final group game.

Kevin Fingleton ‏@kfingleton 20m20 minutes ago

@MiguelDelaney @Zonal_Marking We don't care about our inadequacies. We had footballing moments that literally come along once a gereration.

Michael Cox @Zonal_Marking

@kfingleton @MiguelDelaney That's fine, I'm pleased everyone had a nice time.

Shitty pea-roller, Germany ARE BACK.

ewar woowar (or something), Sunday, 26 June 2016 16:11 (seven years ago) link

Mediocre analysis from Cox imo, three good performances out of four imo and I've never been accused of going easy on em. I don't know his criteria or benchmarks but that is a shittweet

"Were poor" is a bizarre statement. We are poor. We are very poor but we played well. First half was best we have been in a long long time. We are doing the best we can with extremely limited resources.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 26 June 2016 17:17 (seven years ago) link

The 1/64th Hungarian in me is utterly frustrated atm

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:12 (seven years ago) link

This could be about 7-5 or something

groovypanda, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:26 (seven years ago) link

Belgium wasted so many chances you'd almost expect Hungary to make them bleed. Except they don't.

Last two posts otm

The Invention of Worrell (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:29 (seven years ago) link

is it me or goalkeepers have been pretty good in this euro? i used to follow football a lot and stopped around 4-5 years ago, only to watch international tournaments of the kind. and right now i'm mostly impressed by goalkeepers.

Van Horn Street, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:33 (seven years ago) link

Not overly confident that Spain Italy will be "an absolute belter of a game"

groovypanda, Sunday, 26 June 2016 20:34 (seven years ago) link

Hazard passing to himself is A+
