angleterre is quite long

rap game lee rigby (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 22 June 2016 21:28 (seven years ago) link

I didnt see the goal.

The kids next door, theyre that kinda magic age for a summer tournament, three of them between 8 and 11, no girls no work schools out and nothing matters but this.

They watch tv on terrestrial feed. Three seconds ahead of me.

One. Hoolahan has the ball at his feet on the right.

Screams. Like all the lost boys at once. Hunh?

Two. The ball's in the air. I can see a green shirt in its flight path if it misses that defender.

Screams are going on long. Longer than the penalty shout. Longer than the near misses. Theres no edge to them, just sheer jubilation.

Three. The ball is on Brady's head. I don't see the goal. I'm already crying.

r & c thrashing it out for possession in the middle of the word

Daithi Bowsie (darraghmac), Wednesday, 22 June 2016 22:40 (seven years ago) link

We are shit but sometimes we beat good teams one nil. Never seen a game in which one side was given so much and achieved so few chances.

Yoko Ono moonlighting as an Icelandic football commentator

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7t0FdKYhKpA

A heartless anonymous firebrand (Tom D.), Thursday, 23 June 2016 11:33 (seven years ago) link

Co-commentator: Mark Lawrenson

I met Lawrenson last year and he’s a lovely man, so it genuinely pains me to be part of the chorus of voices calling for the poor sod to be put out of his misery. For some time now ‘Lawro’ has given the impression of someone who simply doesn’t like football anymore, or does like it but sees commentating as a really good way to audition for the role of sarcastic team captain on a BBC Two panel show. He’s now also slipped into making really bizarre remarks, such as suggesting the Sweden defender Andreas Granqvist “went down like custard” during their 1-1 draw with the Republic of Ireland. Seriously, let’s bring him home.

quite probably my mind's going but ireland dummying corners, is this a new thing

i found this strange too. i was thinking it was a bit fancy and we needed that extra body in the jump zone (box).

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Thursday, 23 June 2016 13:53 (seven years ago) link

it really induced a mild panic in me, like surely i must have seen it before but no files found

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Thursday, 23 June 2016 14:05 (seven years ago) link

Ludo, Thursday, 23 June 2016 18:31 (seven years ago) link
