seems there is greater parity between the supposedly shit teams and the "favourites" thus far, obviously this is a familiar narrative at this point except at the absolute highest Champs League sf level - is it just a case of the 4 or 5 strongest teams having ridiculously blunted attacks or is this one of the defining features of modern futbol?

Albania seem mentally fatigued more than anything, I'll be amazed (and delighted) if they can withstand 10 more mins of this

Trying to imagine the crowd response if England put this performance as a host nation

imago, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 20:45 (eight years ago) link

Windsor, you still in Paphos btw? We are now, watching this at our flat but the English pub district is kind of amazing/horrifying and we were walking thru it like twenty minutes ago

imago, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 20:47 (eight years ago) link

Oh bollocks

At least we know they're a bit shit now tho

imago, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 20:49 (eight years ago) link

Never in doubt.

On a Raqqa tip (ShariVari), Wednesday, 15 June 2016 20:49 (eight years ago) link

imo if you pull this shit twice in a row you forfeit the right to be seen as moral tournament winners, should that come to pass

Harsh.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 20:50 (eight years ago) link

Imago - walk further down past the ruins to the harbour, way nicer down there.

Bar Street was fucking horrific.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 20:50 (eight years ago) link

The game itself does not merit further comment.

imago, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 20:55 (eight years ago) link

imago, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 20:59 (eight years ago) link

imago, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 20:59 (eight years ago) link

The Brexit Club (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 15 June 2016 21:15 (eight years ago) link

It is our first night! Well, I've been before, but I was a kid

Gonna respectfully (at first) suggest a separate thread for fantasy football nonsense, at least until you all chase me out with pitchforks

imago, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 21:16 (eight years ago) link

What are the chances of West Ham selling Payet for £50m during the tournament and Bilic finding out live on air?

Matt DC, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 21:18 (eight years ago) link

I've had s similar thought but if we're gonna start critiquing each others content well

The Brexit Club (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 15 June 2016 21:19 (eight years ago) link

I'm doing important sociological work on this indulgent holiday

imago, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 21:28 (eight years ago) link

Keep getting thrown by kick-offs being taken backwards. Looks so wrong.

Thought Coman was okay last night, one lovely turn and set up a couple of chances for Giroud.

Shame I won't be able to see this due to work, was looking forward to it. Prediction: 2-2.

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 16 June 2016 12:20 (eight years ago) link

Really pretty nervous about this game now. England unchanged from the Russia match, Hodgson is such a goof

Windsor Davies, Thursday, 16 June 2016 12:29 (eight years ago) link

have gone 2-1 England but Hodgson starting the same team inclines me a little more towards Wales

Terminator Brexit (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 16 June 2016 12:31 (eight years ago) link

Daithi Bowsie (darraghmac), Thursday, 16 June 2016 12:32 (eight years ago) link

groovypanda, Thursday, 16 June 2016 12:37 (eight years ago) link

pandemic, Thursday, 16 June 2016 13:08 (eight years ago) link

not sure wing backs are the best look vs england's formation/personnel.

pandemic, Thursday, 16 June 2016 13:10 (eight years ago) link

got the Cypriot commentary on today, such a nice change

fucking Sterling man, get this little bottlejob OFF the fuckin pitch. what exactly about his job could Jamie Vardy not do better? i get that it's not maximising Vardy's usefulness sticking him out wide but who gaf really

Windsor Davies, Thursday, 16 June 2016 13:12 (eight years ago) link

options to follow games from online are binary between no detail and way too much. if someone here can do a quick update of what has happened say every 15 mins that would be terrific, ty

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 16 June 2016 13:29 (eight years ago) link

30 mins in. england marginally on top, robson-kanu runnning channels quite well, bale anonymous. 2 chances for england, cross from lallana that sterling put over from 6 yards, header from cahill with back to goal from 7 yards straight at keeper.

pandemic, Thursday, 16 June 2016 13:33 (eight years ago) link

ooh handball from wales should maybe be a penalty for england there

pandemic, Thursday, 16 June 2016 13:34 (eight years ago) link
