― kurt schwitterz, Wednesday, 6 July 2016 19:36 (nine years ago)
blake lively seems like a cipher. her public persona is close enough to many of her screen personas that you brush off any evidence that there's a human who is not playing a role, until something like an interest in the "antebellum south" without any recognition of what that term entails pops up and it makes you wonder what's actually going on in there.
either that or she's secretly creating gossip girl season something-teen in real life as an artistic endeavor

a lot of nes nostalgists dont have a wii/wiiu and wouldnt mind dropping 60 bucks to play most of the games they remember from childhood
― 6 god none the richer (m bison), Wednesday, 20 July 2016 22:08 (nine years ago)
I guess she's talking about the 500$ thing the dude in the article is using. which is obv nuts. basically paying hundreds of dollars just for the upscaling.
― ælərdaɪs (jim in vancouver), Wednesday, 20 July 2016 22:10 (nine years ago)
oh haha i assumed it was the 60 buck one they just announced, my bad
― 6 god none the richer (m bison), Wednesday, 20 July 2016 22:11 (nine years ago)
can't you upscale w/ a $35 raspberry pi?
― laraaji p. henson (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 21 July 2016 00:25 (nine years ago)
there's upscaling, and there's good-looking upscaling. then there's upscaling with cry emulation, interpolation, and all kinds of shit to get your tv to look like a classic arcade monitor
― mh, Thursday, 21 July 2016 00:48 (nine years ago)
There’s really not too much to this, but if you need a break from the world or a little time-out on brain activity, just watch this totally silly video of silicone being poured over Lego bricks. It’s stupid but it’s kind of, sort of, fun to see the layers of goo neatly pile up until they collapse all over each other. At that point, the silicone crawls and oozes down until it satisfyingly fills the crevices around the bricks.
irl lol, sorry, i know it's getting played to just keep shitting on sploid but its just so ridiculous

i've been in the camp of "I only read gawker for the thoughtful longform pieces" for a while, but if this backlash sticks it might become harder for gawker to retain any of that credibility with either writers or audience― gwyneth anger (patron sailor), Friday, July 17, 2015 11:17 AM (34 minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

@pareenethe perfect end to this election is Trump quitting and an actual doctrinaire conservative cruising to victory on a raft of media praise
― The Hon. J. Piedmont Mumblethunder (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 3 August 2016 18:18 (nine years ago)
where "actual doctrinaire conservative" means someone who intends to eradicate the death penalty, preserve abortion access and voting rights, and possibly expand social security? Sorry I know it's tiresome continuing to mention the domestic policy differences between actual conservatism and what you think it means
