Rly do not mind McD's coffee and, as far as drip goes, it's much more drinkable than any of Starbucks' drip brews.

v much agree. Starbucks' inability to make and serve a drinkable drip coffee is baffling. They used to sometimes have blends that were ok, I don't remember which ones but the one near my college campus rotated coffees a lot and sometimes it was good.

I remember Starbucks having perfectly fine drip coffee circa 1989, though I don't recall sampling it any time in the past two decades-plus. Sells to a difference audience now. Dunkin Donuts drinkers, maybe?

i just got black cold drip at my place, with a few ice cubes and good god it was delicious. like coffee whiskey or something.

It is impossible to get not terrible coffee on my way to work. There's coffee, but it's just a way of getting caffeinated. I've resigned myself to DD's which I think is the best of the bunch.

There's no Starbucks near my workplace, for better or worse.

i've been drinking mostly central american light roasts that are extremely bright and acidic, kind of got burned out on them tbh, then my wife bought me some ethiopian medium roast and it's been a really nice change

This is an abomination. Usually they also have not the best espresso, and then you get that awful toilety taste of one shitty espresso shot drowning, and straining to make you aware of its existence, under 16 oz of milk or whatever.

in my case it's the fancy 3rd-wave cof shop closest to my building, which just served me maybe the most delicious iced latte i've ever had but it cost $4.50 and was only like 12oz, and if I got the larger size it would be $5 and be way more diluted

ideally the sizes would all take into account the volume of espresso in a shot and scale accordingly to keep the espresso to water/ice/milk/whatever ratio the same regardless of size

kind of surprised to hear of a fancy 3rd wave place doing that

When will these places learn that when they ask me if I want them to leave room for cream and I say no, I really mean it?
